After announcing a leave of absence yesterday, more ugly remarks have been revealed coming from Los Angeles City Council President, Nury Martinez.

According to this, Martinez talked about “judíos” (Jews) “screwing everybody else”. She’s also referred to Areen Ibranossian, a senior advisor to Rick Caruso’s campaign for mayor, as “the guy with one eyebrow”.

These remarks were on top of those referring to the Black child of a white council member as a “changuito,” (Spanish for little monkey) and calling Oaxacan immigrants living in Koreatown “short little dark people.” All of this was unveiled for a conversation in 2021:

Martinez took the helm as Los Angeles City Council President in 2019 and was the first Latina to be elected to the position.

Wait…what? We thought minorities are not racists? Isn’t that what the left has been telling us for years?

They’re raising him like a little white kid. I was like, this kid needs a beatdown. Let me take him around the corner and then I’ll bring him back.”-Nury Martinez

The above remark Martinez made was one regarding the son of City Council member, Mike Bonin. Bonin is gay and he and his partner adopted a black boy. We should note here that this little boy is, indeed a little boy. He was two years old at the time of this remark made last year.

As parents of a Black child, we condemn the entirety of the recorded conversation, which displayed a repeated and vulgar anti-Black sentiment, and a coordinated effort to weaken Black political representation in Los Angeles. The conversation revealed several layers of contempt for the people of Los Angeles, and a cynical, ugly desire to divide the City rather than serve it.”-Mike Bonin

Meanwhile, Joe Biden has called upon Nury Martinez, and the other Los Angeles City Councilmembers who were part of the 2021 dialogue, to resign. One name to think about here: Gavin Newsom. Karine Jean-Pierre goes in for the spin, too:

Nice attempted save, Karine.

But, come on, man! I’m sure old Joe, will march on down to the “racial jungle” of Los Angeles and give Martinez the what-for! But only after he walks into a 7-Eleven to order a Slurpee in his Indian accent. There is no doubt that there is some cleaning up on aisle one with the Democrats in California after this fiasco. Have to protect and stay on the good side of that hair gel-model governor, Gavin Newsom. Got to keep the people voting for Democrats. Otherwise, y’all be back in chains, right, Joe?

Martinez has “decided to take some leave”. Note: she has decided to not completely resign. She wants to “regroup” and “recharge”. This makes us think that she thinks all of it will just boil over and she can slide right back into position. Hey, Nury, while you’re at it, take Kevin de León and Gil Cedillo with you, too as they were part of the conversation and did not condemn the remarks. In fact, Kevin de León likened Mike Bonin’s son to an “accessory” such as Martinez’s Louis Vuitton purse or something.

Just another situation where the Democratic party holds their own responsible over egregious behavior like this. If they were Republican, it would be ignored and they'd all get backing to run for state seats.

No, just no. If these people were Republicans, this would be ALL OVER the place. Which is why, even when Democrats are wrong and behave in a disgusting fashion, they still need to call attention to the opposite political party. It’s like they are asking for absolution. “We’re bad and we know it…unlike those rotten Republicans who, like, say racist things, like all the time and don’t like, even apologize.” Spare us. Please.

Pretty much. Perhaps, Nury will plead her case. She could perhaps team up with Kim Kardashian for a TV opportunity again and file a suit if she feels she was wrongfully asked to step down and abandon her post as City Council President. Kim just passed the “Baby Bar” (after four tries) in California so she’s like almost-a-lawyer (cough).

It’s not only the smog that is thick in Los Angeles. The politics add even a thicker layer of grime and sludge. Nury Martinez is part of this. The Biden Administration acknowledges this. Like Nury Martinez, our foolish President said some pretty darn racist things in the past. Who is holding him accountable?

Anybody?

Update: according to this, Ms. Martinez has officially resigned from her position aboard the Los Angeles City Council.
