How dare you laugh at my pain? That’s the response from Rebecca Kiessling, who lost her sons to fentanyl, after Joe Biden’s insensitive remarks last night.
A Michigan mom whose two sons died of fentanyl overdoses has slammed President Biden as “despicable” after he laughed off the false claim his administration was to blame for their deaths.
Rebecca Kiessling, whose sons Caleb, 20, and Kyler, 18, died in July 2020 after taking fentanyl-laced Percocet pills, took aim at Biden Wednesday night after he used her family’s story to knock GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s suggestion he was responsible for the fatalities.
“This is how you speak about the death of my sons? Because a congresswoman misspoke? You mock the loss of my sons?” Kiessling said in a scathing video posted on Facebook.
You can watch her full response here.
To be clear, Joe was trying to mock Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene over this tweet after Rebecca’s testimony.

While her tweet was clumsily worded, there was no reason at all for Joe to mock the tweet, blame Trump, and laugh through it all.

Rebecca’s testimony was both gut wrenching and devastating in terms of the Biden Administration’s complete inaction over the illegal immigration and fentanyl crisis this country is facing.
Yet, according to Joe Biden last night, her pain doesn’t matter because her sons died when Donald Trump was President.
Kiessling’s sons died in 2020, when Donald Trump was president and was trying to extend a wall across the Southern border.
The Biden administration has touted its overdose epidemic strategy, which has included spending $1.5 billion on grants for aid to treatment programs and law enforcement. The U.S. Department of the Treasury is using sanctions to target the global fentanyl supply chain, especially in Mexico, administration officials have said.
There’s several problems with this Joe. The amount of fentanyl flowing into this country and the number of fentanyl deaths, an average of 154 every day, has dramatically INCREASED since January 2021. You even (well your minions at the WH) said so yourself.
Biden's DEA Administrator says cartels in Mexico are smuggling fentanyl into the U.S. and “killing Americans with fentanyl at catastrophic and record rates.”

A massive increase in fentanyl seizures plus 22% increase in fentanyl deaths since 2021 isn’t anything to laugh about, but Joe went there in mocking Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, and used a grieving mother’s testimony about losing her sons to fentanyl to do so.
Joe’s callous mockery speaks volumes. As does the laughter of the Democrats in that crowd. CNN went so far as to fact check Greene’s tweet and commentary. Except that, even they had to admit IN their fact check story, that the fentanyl crisis was brewing LONG before Trump was elected.
Asked about the tweet, Kiessling, an anti-abortion advocate who has been active in the Republican Party grassroots, noted in an email on Wednesday morning that the number of fentanyl deaths increased sharply between 2020 and 2021. She argued that “if the border had been secured during the Obama administration when the federal government first knew of this issue, my sons would be alive today.” Kiessling concluded: “The whole of our federal government has failed, Congress included.”
US deaths from fentanyl and other synthetic opioids first spiked under Obama in the mid-2010s, then continued to rise under Trump and accelerated again during the Covid-19 pandemic, including early in Biden’s presidency. There have recently been preliminary signs of improvement in US overdose-death numbers, though they remain much higher than they were in 2020 and earlier.
Once again, Joe’s insensitivity and callousness was on full display. Furthermore, he’s continuing a long-standing pattern of his. Blame everyone else for any failures on his watch.

He can’t clam Beau died from a gunfight with the cartels and Hunter hasn’t overdosed yet so he has to make a joke about it.
“if the border had been secured during the Obama administration when the federal government first knew of this issue, my sons would be alive today.”
OK, I’ll be the insensitive jerk here and say, “No, that’s likely not true. The mere availability of fentanyl was not the issue with your sons. It was whatever lack between your parenting and their character that made them think taking illicit percocet was cool or necessary.”
Now, I’m assuming a couple of things here. One is that the percocet was not from a legitimate prescription, because those things don’t tend to end up laced with powerful and deadly illegal narcotics being trafficked over the border. They might get laced with it because they were manufactured somewhere that doesn’t give a crap about the end result, but that isn’t relevant to the border issues. I’m also assuming her sons don’t lack agency and weren’t developmentally disabled prior.
Having said that, Biden was an idiot (since when is that news?) for laughing at this and blaming Trump.
He is a terribly unserious President. (He’s been a terribly unserious person most of his life from what I can tell.)
