Mexico Announces It Will Deport Those Who Rushed U.S. Border

Yesterday, hundreds within the migrant caravan that has been camped out in Tijuana, Mexico, decided to rush the border crossing at San Ysidro, resulting in the border being closed for hours while the Border Patrol tried to keep people from breaking in illegally.

The CBP announced that tear gas was used when rocks and other projectiles were thrown.

And yes, rocks were thrown.

Despite the hysteria from the left, the Obama administration used the exact same tactics when a group rushed the border in the same location exactly five years ago.

Apparently, Mexico is really fed up with this entire situation, and announced that THEY will be deporting those who rushed the border. Wait, what?

Mexico will deport almost 500 migrants who attempted to storm the US border, according to its interior ministry.

The group were rounded up after trying to cross the border “violently” and “illegally” on Sunday, the ministry said in a statement.

Video footage shows dozens of people – including women and children – running towards the fence that separates the two countries near the city of Tijuana.

They were repelled by tear gas used by US border officers.

Mexico’s interior ministry said all those who were identified as having tried to cross would be deported immediately.

It added that, “far from helping their objectives”, the migrants’ actions had violated the legal migration framework and could have led to a “serious incident”.

The citizens of Tijuana have been reportedly getting more and more aggravated with the migrant caravan, staging a protest of their own just last week.

On Sunday, displeased Tijuana residents waved Mexican flags, sang the Mexican national anthem and chanted “Out! Out!” in front of a statue of the Aztec ruler Cuauhtemoc, 1 mile (1.6 kilometers) from the U.S. border. They accused the migrants of being messy, ungrateful and a danger to Tijuana. They also complained about how the caravan forced its way into Mexico, calling it an “invasion.” And they voiced worries that their taxes might be spent to care for the group.

A woman who gave her name as Paloma lambasted the migrants, who she said came to Mexico in search of handouts. “Let their government take care of them,” she told video reporters covering the protest.

While many in Tijuana are sympathetic to the migrants’ plight and trying to assist, some locals have shouted insults, hurled rocks and even thrown punches at them. The cold reception contrasts sharply with the warmth that accompanied the migrants in southern Mexico, where residents of small towns greeted them with hot food, campsites and even live music.

Tijuana Mayor Juan Manuel Gastelum has called the migrants’ arrival an “avalanche” that the city is ill-prepared to handle, calculating that they will be in Tijuana for at least six months as they wait to file asylum claims. Gastelum has appealed to the federal government for more assistance to cope with the influx.

Mexico’s Interior Ministry said Saturday that the federal government was flying in food and blankets for the migrants in Tijuana.

Tijuana officials converted a municipal gymnasium and recreational complex into a shelter to keep migrants out of public spaces. The city’s privately run shelters have a maximum capacity of 700. The municipal complex can hold up to 3,000.

Of course the citizens in southern Mexico could be generous and welcoming. The migrants weren’t staying there permanently! Does that mean the citizens of Tijuana are racist if they want the migrants to leave? Just asking the liberals out there.

A lot of people live in Tijuana who work in the United States. When that border crossing is shut down, as it was on Sunday, it messes with people’s jobs. Which, in turn, messes with the economy of Tijuana. You can see why the residents would be upset if the caravan got the border crossing shut down.

Mexico is stuck with a lot of these migrants after letting them rush their southern border. Now they are discovering that, just like the United States, they don’t have to put up with illegal immigration, either. Hopefully, they follow through with deporting those who tried rushing the border. That action, more than anything else, will discourage stunts like this in the future.

Thank you, Mexico. However, you should have begun deporting when they rushed your border, and not awaited our President showing that he would close the US – Mexico border if necessary.

Border Patrol agents deployed tear gas to dispel the group because of the risk to agents’ safety.
They should have been using bean bag rounds and rubber bullets, at a minimum. What part of “INVASION FORCE” do you not get?

“Let their government take care of them,” she told video reporters covering the protest.
OMG! Trump’s tweets are even read in Mexico! /media

where residents of small towns greeted them with hot food, campsites and even live music
I’m gonna guess that those locals were being paid by the supporters of this “caravan”.
(BTW, there were also lots of complaints about theft, violence, rape, etc. in those southern towns.)

Tijuana officials converted a municipal gymnasium and recreational complex into a shelter to keep migrants out of public spaces.
Meaning none of the people who actually pay for their use can use them, now. So, the invasion force has already conquered Tijuana.

I saw some video ostensibly of these folks breaking into homes in Tijuana. Lots more deporting by Mexico may happen.
