Met Gala 2024-“Garden Of Time” Meets “Day Of Rage”

It’s here. Get your popcorn ready. The Met Gala 2024 has arrived. The Dacquoise is iced. The warm rhubarb tortes are in the ovens. The guest list has been personally curated by the Vogue Editrix Anna Wintour herself. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, on the East Side of Central Park in the 80’s, is perfectly lit. The red carpet is rolled out. The theme, “Garden of Time”, is magical. And, oops, it’s “Day of Rage”. Here come the “Free Palestine” hippies. This could get good.

We are not jealous that we are never invited. I think all of the Victory Girls Goddesses would rather get our teeth cleaned than attend the Met Gala to benefit the Costume Institute. We do write about the Gala every year. There is always something that arrives at the corner of High Art and Idiocy. Remember the year that AOC wore that “Tax the Rich” dress? This year, the Costume Institute is debuting “Sleeping Beauty: Reawakening Fashion” so Garden of Time is an apt theme. Unfortunately, the Upper East Side was double-booked with the Day of Rage. Oops!

It doesn’t look like too many protestors got over to the Met Gala during Red Carpet time. On X (Twitter), actress Patricia Heaton said that there is more police protection for the celebs at the Gala than Jewish students trying to get to class. Ain’t that the truth. Then, Anna Wintour has more pull with the cops than the Jewish students.

I would much rather go over the hill to watch the kids from Bearden High School walk the red carpet for their Senior Prom.

Before they got to the Met Gala, these well-funded protestors defaced a WWI memorial and burned an American Flag. Oh no they didn’t.

Several anti-Israel protesters vandalized a World War I memorial statue in Central Park Monday – and burned an American flag at its base – after a group of more than 1,000 marchers were blocked by cops from reaching the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where the star-studded Met Gala was in full swing.

A few of the protesters lit the flag on fire at the site of the One Hundred Seventh Infantry Memorial, which they graffitied with “Gaza” in large black letters and covered in stickers reading “Stop the genocide. End the apartheid. Free Palestine.”

Some of the protesters climbed atop the bronze soldiers and waved Palestinian flags or draped them over the figures.

Cops managed to divert the crowd into Central Park before blocking the exits, where they remained at a standstill and confused about how to progress.

“This is an exercise in futility at this point. There’s nowhere for them to go,” a cop attempting to corral the crowd was heard telling his partner.

The protesters then filed out of the park and were within sight of the Met, but dozens of police formed a blockade — standing two cops deep — preventing them from heading north.

“Is that the Met?” one protester asked a friend. “Oh no, we were so close.”

The group tried to reach the museum again by turning down East 81st Street but was again stopped by more police barricades at the intersection with Madison Avenue.

Oh, noes. They were so close. We really shouldn’t laugh at these historically ignorant little turds. They are truly dangerous. More:

Soon after cops met the protesters head-on three blocks uptown and began making about two dozen arrests. Officers were seen tackling at least one woman to the ground while someone chucked a water bottle at the cops.

“Who do you serve? Who do you protect?” the group shouted in a chant at the cops.

Earlier in the evening, several pro-Israel supporters showed up at Hunter College to face off with people they accused of “supporting terrorism.”

“All these people are ignorant, uneducated and blindly following each other. It feels like we’re back in World War two,” said 17-year-old Jewish Upper East Sider Elena Bakhchi.

The two opposing sides engaged in screaming matches on the campus while cops warned demonstrators that they could face arrest for “unlawfully walking in a roadway.”

If their Day of Rage was just a psychodrama that would be bad enough. It is fun to gig the elites. The overworked, under supported police don’t deserve this shite:

It doesn’t seem like the protestors will be deterred that they didn’t disrupt the red carpet:

Every single person who walked that red carpet is responsible for these Day of Rage hippies. Every. Single. Solitary. One. Of. Them. Enjoy the warm rhubarb tarts fools.

The Met Gala? My Care-O-Meter is below zero.

    • GWB says:

Yeah. The only reason to be interested is to showcase the stupidity of the attendees or the protesters. (“Both” works, too.)

    • Cameron says:

I get where you are coming from and I appreciate the sentiment.

But I don’t want these sub humans disrupting anyone’s lives any more. I want the cops to beat them so hard, their children will be born with bruises.

Well, we should, actually. We should be doing it while beating them into some semblance of adults, though.
THUMP! “Hahahahaha!” THUMP! “Bwahahaha! You guys are so stupid!” THUMPITY THUMP!

“Who do you serve? Who do you protect?” the group shouted in a chant at the cops.
Practical answer: The people who pay our salaries.
Aspirational answer: The people who are not trying to tear down our society.

It feels like we’re back in World War two,
Ummm, no. I’m thinking you should go read some history other than Howard Zinn.

  • […] while trying to disrupt events from graduations to the Met Gala is revolting enough, it takes some obscene chutzpah to scream genocide and wave Palestinian (sic) […]
