Macklemore Booted Off Ed Sheeran Tour

The latest recipient of the Dumbass Celebrity FAFO award goes to (drum roll, please)…Macklemore.

Messina Touring Group, the company promoting the U.S. leg of Sheeran’s Loop Tour, confirmed Macklemore was dropped from the lineup in a statement to Rolling Stone</em>.

Why was the Seattle native dropped from the tour? Perhaps it was all because of his desire to bloviate. Now, Macklemore, once upon a time, had some true talent. But, imagine this. An arena full of people of all ages and walks of life-because Ed Sheeran has that much appeal, only to have to sit and suffer through a middle-aged-has-been chanting, “Free Palestine”.

Now, Macklemore and Ed Sheeran have been friends for years. But it seems as though Macklemore is riding the red-headed crooner’s coat tails in this case. In fact, Macklemore did not hop on Sheeran’s tour to perform. He admitted that he did this because it gave him a platform. A platform to stand up for “children being killed in Palestine” or something.

A big part of the reason why I wanted to do this tour in the first place is so I could stand up in stadiums like this and say two words that are very near and dear to my heart: ‘Free Palestine. I said, ‘Free Palestine!’ I want those words to be loud and clear, so that people all the way in Gaza to the occupied West Bank know that we have not forgotten about them.”-Macklemore

I guarantee you, not one of the mainstream fans flocking to see the headliner sing Shape of You said, “Oh my golly, gee! I can’t wait to hear Macklemore rap about Palestine or the Columbia camp-outs!” Not one in the audience said they could not wait to see Macklemore in his Orthodox Jew costume.

Yeah, It was just a clown nose.

Even Pink, who is notoriously liberal and anti-Trump, had this to say:

I have never asked for another artist to be silenced and I’m not asking now. I don’t need anyone fired, and I don’t need a refund. What I need is to be able to say, as a Jewish mom, ‘that scared me, and it scared people I love,’ without being told our fear is just propaganda, and without being told I’m somehow cool with genocide because I noticed?”-Pink

Still, Macklemore defended his statements:

Criticism of Israel, criticism of apartheid, being against genocide in no way is a criticism of you. My message is for peace; love for all human beings to be treated with dignity, respect, and equality.”-Macklemore

Dignity. Respect. Equality. Were the Israelis attending a music festival on October 7th of 2023 treated with respect? Dignity? Equality? Killings. Beheadings. Rape.

Macklemore said there was a lot of back and forth with Ed Sheeran before he got booted off the tour. Sheeran knows where his bread is buttered and, apparently, did not want his buddy stinking things up. Of course, Macklemore, being the “stand up guy” that he is, says he will not be silenced. Their friendship won’t change, he claims. But he will not stay quiet. Someone needs to tell the truth about what happened.

Again, like on October 7th of 2023? Was Macklemore there?

Macklemore’s buddy, Ed, will be continuing on his North American dates without his late-night jam partner. Sheeran has neither endorsed or condemned Macklemore’s stance. But, you know who is rallying behind Macklemore? Enter Pramila Jayapal:

It’s so incredibly disappointing that Macklemore, my constituent, was removed from Ed Sheeran’s tour because of his comments in support of the Palestinian people.

We should all be outraged that powerful people are more upset about what an artist says than the displacement, starvation, and killing of innocent Palestinian children and families.

Thank you, Macklemore, for speaking up. This is a moment for us to come together, find our moral conscience as a nation, and end this genocide.”-Pramila Jayapal

Shall we talk about genocide (AKA abortion) in Washington State, Ms. Jayapal?

The moral conscience as a nation…look no further than Mackle-moron. You just won’t find him touring with Ed Sheeran.

Something tells me he won’t be missed.

So what do I have to buy to get a Free Palestine? I hope it’s something good because Palestine seems to be a Middle East dumping ground.
