The media really doesn’t want to cover the tragic and horrific story about Iryna Karutska. Why? Because they are all in on sympathizing with and coddling the criminals. They are mad that we are noticing that they weren’t or aren’t covering the story.

As I wrote yesterday, Iryna got on the light rail in Charlotte, North Carolina on August 22nd. Barely ten minutes into the ride, Decarlos Brown Jr, stood up from his seat behind her and stabbed her to death. This is a criminal who not only has a minimum of 14 arrests to his name, he did prison time, and his MOTHER kicked him out of the house because he was such a danger to her and the rest of the family. She’s on record wanting him locked up or institutionalized. 

Further, he shouldn’t have been on the light rail that night. But he was because some asshat progressive judge let him OUT on cashless bail and a handwritten (yes handwritten!) pledge from him that he’d appear on his court date. Yes, that really happened. 

Well now, as of this morning, some in the media are reporting on this tragedy. But they are doing so in such as way as to twist it to blame ordinary Americans, bloggers, and others on social media for noticing their refusal to cover the story.

Axios bias for the win yet again. Oh, but their report gets even worse. This is the headline.

And then the author writes this: 

MAGA influencers are drawing repeated attention to violent attacks to elevate the issue of urban crime — and accuse mainstream media of under-covering shocking cases.

The video is easily shared or leaked, and can instantly pollinate across social media — a visual counterpoint to statistics showing crime decreases.

Between the lines: Influential conservative social media accounts accused major national news outlets of not covering the racial dynamics of the Charlotte killing — a white victim and a Black suspect — with the same intensity as they did in the case of Daniel Penny.

Penny, who is white, choked to death a homeless Black man who was threatening passengers on a subway car in Manhattan in 2023. A jury acquitted Penny of criminally negligent homicide.

Guess what Axios? You aren’t. You are trying to blame us for noticing that you don’t want to report on this at all. Yet, how many stories on Daniel Penny did you write? 78 vs exactly TWO for Iryna. 

As of this writing, the Washington Post has printed NOTHING about Iryna’s murder. How many regarding Daniel Penny? Over 5,600.  I did a search regarding Kilmar Abrego Garcia and holy cow, over 48,000 news items were written. 

Yet, when it comes to a murderous mentally deranged thug, who happens to be black, viciously attacking a young white woman who is a refugee from Ukraine…it’s radio silence.

And the government of Ukraine did as well. 

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic death of Ukrainian citizen Iryna Zarutska,” the embassy said in a statement.

The statement continued, “Since August 22, when this tragic incident occurred, the Embassy of Ukraine has been in close contact with Ms. Zarutska’s family and continues to provide them with all necessary consular support during this difficult time. The Embassy is also in ongoing communication with local U.S. law enforcement authorities, specifically the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, which is actively investigating the case. We sincerely appreciate their cooperation and commitment to conducting a thorough and transparent investigation.”

Newsweek is one of the very, and I mean VERY few outlets that are reporting on this. At least even CNN stepped up yesterday and this morning. 

After I wrote the original post yesterday, it came out that Mayor Vi Liles, who spoke more about the criminal than Iryna herself, spent the two weeks trying to keep reports and the video of Iryna’s murder suppressed. 

Ever since Ferguson, and George Floyd, we’ve been told that the criminals themselves are the victims. The actual victims of the crimes don’t matter. 

Except they do. It matters that people are assaulted, raped, and murdered in Washington D.C. It matters that 12 people were injured and 7 killed in Chicago in ONE weekend. 

Americans WANT law and order. Democrats don’t, and spend their time tap-dancing around the fact that their policies keep criminals ON the streets.

You could just NOT let a repeat, 14x violent offender, with a schizophrenia diagnosis out on CASHLESS BAIL to murder people.

More cops won’t solve the issue when its the prosecutors and judges who let those criminals walk because of pie in the sky – let’s not punish them too much, give them a chance idiotic socialist mantras that endanger lives.

Good vs. evil—it really is that simple. Iryna Zarutska fled the Russia-Ukraine war only to be murdered on a U.S. train by a repeat offender with 14 arrests. This is what happens when criminals roam free. Protect innocent lives before protecting failed policies.

The media doesn’t like that this tragedy is getting political. That’s just too damned bad. It IS political when the media chooses to elevate criminals over victims. It IS political when even the local political establishment prioritizes criminals over the victims.
