Mary Jo Kopechne might have thought that Kennedy’s career was worth her death?

You have gotta be freaking kidding me. You know, I obviously didn’t know Mary Jo Kopechne, nor do I know anyone who knew her or loved her. But I’m pretty sure that Mary Jo wasn’t willing to die in order for Ted Kennedy to have a long career in the Senate, regardless of how dedicated she may have been to liberal causes.

But for perverted ex-lawyer and liberal HuffPo writer Melissa Lafsky, apparently there’s a possibility that Mary Jo would have thought that dying was “worth it”. Worth what is unclear. Ted Kennedy spent the rest of his life happily exploiting and abusing women (and quite possibly raping a few), drinking himself into oblivion, and acting as if he was American royalty. Who knows what Mary Jo Kopechne might have done with her life, but apparently nothing she might have accomplished would have been good enough, because apparently Ted Kennedy’s life was simply worth more. Thinking that a man’s career is worth more than a woman’s life is despicable and remarkably sexist (although I bet Jessica Valenti and the Feministing crew won’t care because good ole Teddy was such an ardent supporter of abortion, which is all you need to buy off the feminists these days).

We don’t know how much Kennedy was affected by her death, or what she’d have thought about arguably being a catalyst for the most successful Senate career in history. What we don’t know, as always, could fill a Metrodome.

Still, ignorance doesn’t preclude a right to wonder. So it doesn’t automatically make someone (aka, me) a Limbaugh-loving, aerial-wolf-hunting NRA troll for asking what Mary Jo Kopechne would have had to say about Ted’s death, and what she’d have thought of the life and career that are being (rightfully) heralded.

Who knows — maybe she’d feel it was worth it.

It’s ridiculous to think about just how low liberals will sink in order to deify someone, just because they’re a liberal and have the right last name. It really makes me sick to my stomach. Are there no morals, no principles left for them? None at all?

I saw this too… you can’t make it up!

Cassy: this one deserves six stars.

    Cassy,

Still think I should pull my punches? You made statement a couple of days ago (which was probably directed at me) that we shouldn’t be disrespectful of “Teddy.” This is why I sneer at the current logic.
The Left does nothing but hammer us conservatives, but for some odd reason, we’re supposed to use kid glove treatment while the Left gets to punch us with an anvil inside the glove.

I said what I said several days ago on your first Kennedy post because I’m just heartily sick and tired of having to act respectful to people (in this case Kennedy) who are not in the least deserving of respect. It’s worse than wrong, it’s hypocritical.

I do understand where you’re coming from Cassy. I was brought up to be respectful as well, but I just see way, way too much hatred on the other side for me to just sit back and say “it’s no big deal.” It’s getting more and more out of control with the Left and if they’re not careful, someone’s going to wind up being seriously hurt, even killed (think union thugs at the protests). That’s the nature of who we’re up against at this point, and they’re becoming more and more emboldened.

And the answer to your last question is no…there is no moral or principle for them. The only thing that counts for them is victory, and they will stop at nothing to gain it.

You make many, many excellent and well thought-out points on your blog, but you’re not correct on the one you made several days ago. I will not make the type of comment I made several days ago here (I will respect that), but I will not apologize for it either.

To be fair if it wasn’t her it would have been someone else. So why not take one for the team?

Family issues, a love for alcohol, and knowing that he is completely isolated from any punishment means he would likely have killed someone in his life.

He’s a kennedy; if he doesn’t leave a wake of illegitimate children, and dead/raped women behind him he wouldn’t have been invited to the family picnic.
