This year marks the very first year Zohran Mamdani is mayor of New York City on the anniversary of 9/11. This year also marks the 25th anniversary of the tragic events that happened on that day.

Mamdani, who was 10 years old when 9/11 happened talked of “globalizing the intifada” and anti-Muslim “discrimination” his “auntie” experienced on the subway post 9/11. Freedom Tower, the site where Muslim extremists used our own aircraft as jet-fueled bombs and killed thousands, was lit up in green for Muslim Heritage Month. Mamdani’s office re-drew maps of Manhattan and the Boroughs and left out the Italian, Irish, German and Dutch (to name a few) enclaves that helped build this great city.

The sour taste many New Yorkers have felt after Mamdani was elected will undoubtedly carry over into this day of remembrance. And, New York Republican gubernatorial candidate, Bruce Blakeman, said attendees at this year’s Sept. 11 memorial ceremony should turn their backs on New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani should he decide to show up.

I would equate this to a wake. You don’t go to a wake if you’re not welcome.

I think it’s completely appropriate if family members ask him not to come, but if he does come, I think there’s a respectful and peaceful way to protest that, and I would suggest that people turn their back on the mayor.

He’s not welcome there because he has yet to say anything in opposition to the global intifada. As a matter of fact, it seems like he supports that phrase, which is part of the reason why we had the tragedy we had on 9/11″-Bruce Blakeman

Personally, turning one’s back on Zohran Mamdani on 9/11 would be easing him off gently. I’ve been to an Italian Catholic wake when someone was not welcome and it’s not pretty. But Zohran wouldn’t know that because, in his world, Italian-American New Yorkers don’t exist.

Blakeman is not the only one urging Mamdani to sit things out. New York City’s Catholic League President Bill Donohue penned a 6-page letter to the mayor, urging him not to attend.

You appear to be more concerned about ‘Islamophobia’ than you are the bombing.

More to the point, your reluctance to speak negatively about the role of radical Muslims in fostering oppression and warfare, including the attacks on 9/11, makes you unsuitable to preside over the ceremony honoring these innocent Americans next month.”-Bill Donohue

I mean, he’s not wrong. In Mamdani’s warped view, maybe we deserved it. Some people did something.

The man did swear his oath of office on the Quran, after all. Adding insult to injury may be carting his “Hungry but Sexy for Palestine” wife along for the event, who was all of four years old at the time when two 767s crashed into the Twin Towers.

I’ve seen the arguments. “You cannot blame good Muslims for the acts of a few bad apples”. Yes, this is true. There ARE good Muslim Americans. I would argue that some of them died on that fateful day and THEY don’t want Zohran Mamdani there, either. Zohran probably does not want to really be there to honor the families. It is a photo op. Nothing more. Mayor doing mayor-like things.

9/11 was one of America’s darkest days. The victims and first responders deserve total respect.

It’s a day of remembrance, not a political photo op to farm votes.

Mamdani did get boo-ed off stage recently. He got off easy, in my opinion. But the question remains. Should he, or shouldn’t he attend this year’s 9/11 memorial? You be the judge:

Mamdani was associated with a radical Bed-Stuy imam who hosted the Blind Sheikh, mastermind of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, and has made controversial statements about jihad.

Siraj Wahhaj, born Jeffrey Kearse, hosted Mamdani at his At-Taqwa mosque during the campaign and received criticism at the time from former FBI agents for failing to condemn the cleric.”-Fox News

Then there’s his Columbia Professor Daddy…

The victims’ families also called out Mamdani’s father, Columbia government professor Mahmood Mamdani, whom they cite as authoring a book shortly after the attacks in which he argued suicide bombers should be “understood as a feature of modern political violence rather than stigmatized as a mark of barbarism.”

They wrote that Professor Mamdani’s book – “Good Muslim, Bad Muslim: America, the Cold War, and the Roots of Terror” – also included a passage arguing a moral equivalency between the United States and Al Qaeda.”-Fox News

That’s a problem.

We shall see how the next few weeks play out on this one. In all honesty, I would not only turn my back on Mamdani but also on the scavenger-hunt jackass New Yorkers who voted for him on that day. They are equally, if not more culpable in this cluster–k.
