Mamdani: Gen Z Women Love A Good Socialist

As Zohran Mamdani did a victory lap in New York City on Tuesday night, many were left wondering what and who propelled his victory forward.

It was women. Young, Gen Z women. Now, of course, any woman, when faced with voting for a guy who grabs women’s asses to a guy who eats rice with his hands would vote for the guy who eats rice with his hands-that’s a no-brainer. But, what do we make of Zohran Mamdani’s appeal with Gen Z women?

According to NBC News exit polling, among women ages 18-29, 84 percent supported Mamdani.”-Hayden Cunningham, The Post Millennial

Mamdani talked out of both sides of his face. Claiming to be a “champion” for the single mom and for women in general by making New York City a more “livable” city. He also, once upon a time, wanted to defund the police.

Mamdani’s overwhelming support among young women comes despite his past statements about defunding the police, which could lead to increased crime. The socialist mayor-elect has been a controversial figure throughout the campaign, as his past rhetoric had included calls for abolishing the police, calling cash bail ‘racist,’ referring to violent crime as an ‘artificial construction,’ and advocating for the removal of the NYPD gang database”-Hayden Cunningham, The Post Millennial

Apparently, these women voters don’t think crime is a problem.

Among those who said crime is not a problem for them, 68 percent voted for Mamdani.”-Hayden Cunningham, The Post Millennial

Not a problem at all. It’s all good until some woman gets torched on a subway.

But, according to The New York Times, a “newspaper” that continues to gush about Zohran Mamdani, the campaign for the democratic socialist gave Gen Z sooooo much more than a democratic socialist:

In Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, a 29-year-old welcomed new canvassing friends to his birthday gathering. In the borough’s Flatbush neighborhood, a 27-year-old fresh off a breakup gained a whole new social group. And in the East Village, a 24-year-old landed a date with another democratic socialist.”-Emma Goldberg and Benjamin Oreskes

Love brings everyone together. Zohran Mamdani is the link to a social life for these young, Brooklyn/East Village types. It’s a modern-day Sex and The City. The kids in keffiyehs are making friends. Some might even be getting laid…

…or not.

Volunteering for Mr. Mamdani’s campaign became a salve for members of a generation diagnosed by psychologists with anxiety and by the surgeon general with loneliness, whose religious affiliation is often ‘unaffiliated’ and who also apparently killed drinking and having sex.”-Emma Goldberg and Benjamin Oreskes, The New York Times

Correction: a generation largely brought to us by COVID lockdowns imposed by Democrats, who then amped up the anxiety during pandemic by sticking these youngsters in front of a screen, revamping school curriculum and telling them that it is okay to question their identity in this world, their sexuality and be anxious about, like, everything. Then, they whispered in their ears that it is the government’s job to look after them in every aspect of their lives. Of course, they have NO religious affiliation. Churches were shuttered at this time. They worshipped at the government’s altar. Of course they don’t have sex. Some of them have mutilated their bodies beyond recognition. And, they killed drinking and just replaced alcohol as the drug of choice with pot.

Mr. Mamdani’s campaign events are like salsa sessions at Bronx Brewery, raves at Elsewhere in Bushwick, Brooklyn, and night markets in Corona Park, Queens.”-Emma Goldberg and Benjamin Oreskes

And, of course scavenger hunts.

But it isn’t only young, Gen Z women who turned out for Mamdani. Crusty, white women showed up as well to be part of the excitement:

They are freaking out. White country-club Republicans, when they see educated, brown-skinned people like you all, and like Zohran, it is a threat to their privileged position that they hold, and they see it as un-American, and they see it as an attack on their way of life.

If it was all White people here right now, it would be boring as s—. I’ve grown up in those circles,” Welch said. “Everybody needs some spice and color in their lives. Life’s a lot better. And that’s the coolest thing about America. Americans have no culture except for multiculturalism.”-Jennifer Welch

Spoken like a true, crusty white woman who is a democrat and wants to be part of the “cool kids club”:

It feels like we’re the cool kids! (So they say.)

The cult of personality has taken over New York City and the five Burroughs. They have enjoyed Zohran craft sessions where they’ve exchanged friendship bracelets with their new BFFs, stick and bitches where they made Mamdani crocheted blankets. They found love when their hands met after grabbing that bag of sour cream and onion chips at a Mamdani campaign scavenger hunt one Sunday morning in Bushwick. They will have these love stories to tell their kids should they choose not to abort ’em first.

Let’s hope they enjoy the same community in the bread lines at an amazing Zohran grocery store.

Socialism And The City. Stay tuned.

I thought the feminist movement meant that women could have all the opportunities that were once the domain of males that gave them financial independence and freedom of choice. Now they regress and have someone, in this case the government, assist them with the independence and freedom they fought so rabidly for? I fail to understand the rationale.
