I have to admit that any time I learn of a terror attack either here or abroad, I am both scared and infuriated. I got up early this morning just thinking about the most recent attack in Brussels. At 2am, I was wide awake.

A few days ago, a blogger by the name of “Woke Daddy” (his real name is Ludo Gabriele) took to the Internet to discuss how “toxic masculinity” is killing our children. A day later, we met Barbie’s other half, Ken, now sporting the dreadful man-bun and “dad-abs”. Gabriele is “woke”, Katy Perry claims she’s “woke”. Everybody is woke, woke and woke and the party is off-the-hook.

It got me to thinking, as I perused the headlines about yet another 2017 buzzword. The word “woke” was initially tied to the Black Lives Matter movement but has since become the choice word of liberals to assert their intellectual superiority to the rest of the minions of the Rust Belt who are still in a cozy slumber (according to them). “Woke’ has evolved to be the catch-all for liberals of the resistance; to define those who supposedly are not on autopilot. “We are Hashtag Woke”, they say. Honestly, it’s nothing but a pretentious way of saying “we are better than you because we actually think about things”.

So, I charged up my brain this morning with my usual dark and bitter black coffee and decided to take heed and use my noggin. And, you know what? I realized that being “woke” is soooo much more than advocating for racial equality and equal pay for equal work. It goes beyond women’s rights and the rights of the LGBTQ community. It involves dressing a certain way. (Pink pussy hat, androgynous ugly clothing, anyone?) Being “woke” involves insisting that global warming is real because-“science”-while advocating for the senseless and selfish murder of human lives (this, incidentally, from the same people who advocate against euthanasia of shelter animals and the cruel practices the slaughter of farm animals for food). Being “woke” involves being a woman and embracing sexuality beyond the norms as a big “eff-you” to the patriarchy and talking about all of it in gross detail. It involves screaming like an intellectual midget at people, in expletives, at those who do not bear the same philosophy in the name of touting yourself as superior:

Yep. These people are “awakened”. They are so much more aware than we are with their 32-different-gender pronoun version of the English Language. They indoctrinate our children in the name of “social justice” at our schools while test scores plummet, some kids can no longer sign their names (much less read cursive handwriting) and bullying has become much more passive-aggressive and sinister at our schools with sex and drugs being more prevalent. Being “woke” involves assimilating Presidential beheadings and assassinations and being obsessed with illicit activity with the Russians while months ago, these eyes-wide-open, socially conscious, lovers-of-all (except Christians, they absolutely hate Christians) posted memes like this:

Perhaps if we just woke the hell up and started acknowledging our “privilege” and we just stepped aside. and we were not the angry and hateful bigot-Nazi-racists that the “brains” of the population deem some of us to be, terrorists would stop picking on us. After all, stepping aside worked so well for cities like London, Paris, Cologne and Stockholm, don’t you think? If we just wiped the eye boogers out and gave ourselves some Visine and a double-shot of Espresso, we would see that these refugees:

I keep hoping that this is all a bad dream and then I realize this is the altered reality that we are living in right now.
