For months, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her Democrat Party minions have been dogging President Donald Trump and the Border Patrol about kids in cages at the border. With Congress taking a six week Summer vacation, what is Pelosi doing? She is going to Italy and Africa. There is nothing that will help our domestic issues, like the border, more than a boondoggle trip.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi is leading a Congressional delegation to Ghana to hold high-level discussions with Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo, Speaker Mike Oquaye and other senior government officials, and to visit U.S. Army Africa headquarters in Italy. Speaker Pelosi will also deliver an address to the Ghanaian Parliament.
Solemnly, the delegation will pay respects at Cape Coast and Elmina Castles and the “Door of No Return,” to observe the 400th Anniversary of the First Enslaved Africans Landing in America.
“As we face evolving global security challenges, our delegation will thank our men and women in uniform and receive briefings from U.S. military leaders at U.S. Army Africa headquarters,” Speaker Pelosi said.

It’s for the kids, right?

According to the Washington Examiner, this trip is set to coincide with the 400th anniversary of the first African slaves being brought to the New World. The article calls the place America, but it was known to Europeans as the New World. And, the CoDel will pay obeisance “at Cape Coast and Elmina Castles and the “Door of No Return” in observance of the anniversary.” Ilhan Omar is on this trip. I am sure she will find Ghana more open and welcoming than she has the United States.
Speaker Pelosi and the crew will also visit the U.S. headquarters in Africa to thank our uniformed services personnel and receive briefings. Speaking of uniformed services personnel, in January of this year, the spouses of the border patrol agents invited Nancy to visit with them She has yet to take them up on their offer. But, Pelosi still insists it’s all about the kids.
Yeah, it’s all about those kids in cages. When the Dems say “kids in cages”, I suspect most people see in their minds, a child in a dog kennel. The feature photo above this post shows kids in a large open space. It may have bars, that’s true. What would the Dems have us do? Leave the children out in the open where they could be preyed upon? And, those aluminum foil wrappers? Those are emergency thermal blankets. They can keep you warm or keep the sun from baking you. I keep a couple that I got at road races in the console of my car for an emergency. Who knew they were offensive.
The point of all this is that if Nancy and the CoDel really cared about the kids, they would have stayed in D.C. to work out a solution for the border crisis. Or, they would have spent their vacation at the border helping our over-worked border patrol agents who care for the kids every day.
It was never about the kids, by the way.

Scott says: Can we pay Ghana to just keep them? most of them claim they want to “get back to their roots”… well, let em stay! If they don’t come back, it’ll raise the collective IQ’s of their districts significantly!
Tina says: I’m disappointed that a website run by a group of powerful women with an impressive list of credentials would adopt an attitude that helps to fuel the incivility, sarcasm, and unhelpful rhetoric that’s causing the massive disaster we are now facing where Americans are pitted against other American. Because of all the hate speech, certain groups of Trump supporters now spoiling for a second civil war. It’s getting so bad with Trump saying congresswomen hate this country that it now includes all Democrats. It’s incredibly offensive and blatantly untrue! We need to find what we CAN agree on and start to fill in the chasm between us. I wish we could be Americans and not two armed camps of enemies. Our President unfortunately cultivates this divide, but we need to stick together and say enough of this already.
I think it is entirely appropriate that Nancy Pelosi and Ilhan Omar are in Africa, meeting with leaders and speaking to troops on the 400th anniversary of the first African slaves being brought to the New World. It marks a shameful time in our own history that many, including Congressmen, want to declare is in the past. Most people should be able to connect the dots and realize that we are all still living with the unfortunate legacy of slavery 400 years later, which is racism. As for the “Squad,” they were elected by constituents who want them to speak about things nobody wants to acknowledge and the time to face them is way overdue. I feel sad for the Squad, really. They are unjaded young women, full of hope and the fire of their convictions who got elected to talk about these big issues at last. They still believe they can save the world. The reality is this: nobody will allow them to try.

In (actual) USA, I “celebrate” on the Fourth of July, as well as the last Monday in May.
While they’re in Ghana, will they say anything to the tribes who captured & sold those poor buggers to the Euros?
Why on earth does Nancy Pelosi think she is needed in Ghana. She is needed to do her job here in the USA and not spending government dollars flying over to Africa to have a good ole time for herself with her anterage. They waste money all the time and nothing ever gets done to make any difference. We need her and the other democrats out of office if they don’t want to make a real difference in our country not someone elses. We already have Somolian refugees here that have messed up society and now we have to go to Ghana for WHAT?
