Kate Brown, Burn It Down

Well, it seems the outgoing governor of Oregon, Kate Brown, has decided to use her clemency powers to burn it all down as she exits.

Oregon Governor Kate Brown took office in 2015 when John Kitzhaber resigned. She was elected in the gubernatorial special election in 2016 and was re-elected to a full term in 2018.

Since Kate Brown could not seek reelection due to term limits, she has decided to commute all death row inmates, 17 of them.

Not only that, but she has ordered the dismantling of the execution chamber.

She calls the death penalty immoral and a waste of taxpayer dollars. Pardon me, but who will pay for them now, Governor, as they live out the rest of their days in prison getting fat and binging on re-runs of Breaking Bad?

“I have long believed that justice is not advanced by taking a life, and the state should not be in the business of executing people — even if a terrible crime placed them in prison,” – Kate Brown

There has been a moratorium in Oregon regarding the death penalty, and when Kate took office in 2015, she continued that moratorium.

But now, she has taken it upon herself to release the death row sentence for 17 inmates.

Pro Life?

I know I’ll take some flack for this, but I have to agree with her. I am a Catholic, and when I say I am pro-life, I mean that very thing – I am pro-life.

However, since the outgoing governor has now voiced and penned her opinion and believes that the state should not be in the business of executing people, I would like to ask her how she feels about babies?

Abortion in Oregon is legal at all stages of pregnancy. – wikipedia

That’s right, legal at ALL STAGES OF PREGNANCY.

Hey Kate, how do you feel about murdering babies? Oh, that’s right, at any stage of the pregnancy is what you support when it comes to abortion.

If you can stomach listening to these two birds go on and on about the right to have an abortion, here you go.

Kate Brown uses all her power to burn it down before she leaves office.

On her Wikipedia page (yea I know) it states,

As an openly bisexual woman, Brown has made history several times through her electoral success. In 2008, she became the first openly LGBT person elected secretary of state of a state in the United States.

And it also lists her as currently married to a man. Clearly, she has some issues to work out. Now she has the time to do so. Bye, Kate!

Back when I was in college, I was in a police station, dealing with the paperwork after my car caught fire (oil leak), and looked at the Wanted posters board. In one corner, it had a hand-lettered sign that said [qq], “If you see any of these people, do not let them know you have recognized them. Many of them are already wanted for capital crimes, and, since Alabama does not have the death penalty, they have nothing to lose by removing witnesses.”

You must have been in Alabama between 1972 and 1976; the short few years Alabama didn’t have the death penalty.
