Jasmine Crockett has aspirations. That became very clear yesterday when she announced her bid for SenatorJohn Cornyn’s seat in Texas. She may have primary opponents and could face strong opposition on the Republican side, but her REAL opponent? President Trump.
As our long-time readers know. Jasmine Crockett isn’t the ghetto firebrand she portrays herself as such. She grew up quite the child of privilege going to the most exclusive private schools in St. Louis, Missouri. Her college bonafides aren’t too shabby either. So don’t let her ghetto talk fool you.
She evidently feels that she’s done her time as a U.S. Rep, and wants to be handed that U.S. Senate seat. I’m sure prior members of her staff might have a thing or two to say about that.
Colin Allred has already been forced out of the primary.

He spun it pretty decently, but fact is. He was told to go. Evidently today’s Democrats want someone who is combative and shrill.
For months, some prominent Texas Democrats in the state, including the former congressman Beto O’Rourke, had been working behind the scenes to try to avoid a crowded field in the high-profile Senate race and instead create a slate of strong candidates for different statewide offices, including the open seat for attorney general and the race for governor, where Greg Abbott is facing re-election in 2026.
That process accelerated in recent weeks as Ms. Crockett began seriously weighing a run for Senate and the deadline for declaring drew near.
Last week, Ms. Crockett talked by phone in separate calls with Mr. Talarico and Mr. Allred, according to the Talarico and Allred campaigns. During the calls, Ms. Crockett described internal campaign polling that she said showed her having the best chance of winning. She did not share the polling with either candidate.
“The data says that I can win,” she said in an appearance on MS NOW on the same day as the calls with the Democratic candidates. “I am very formidable.”
A spokesman for the Crockett campaign declined to provide copies of any internal poll results.
First, I’m laughing that Texas Democrats still consider Beto O’Rouke to be someone worth listening to. Especially given he lost two major Texas races.
Secondly,Texas Democrats are quite gleeful over Jasmine’s chances.
Some Texas Democrats said they believe Crockett brings a shot of enthusiasm – and her assertiveness is what the Democratic electorate is clamoring for. “We need some out loud, bold progressives, and that’s what people like about her,” said Allison Campolo, chairwoman of the Tarrant County Democratic Party. “She doesn’t shy away from anything. She doesn’t run to the middle.”
“Assertiveness?” Well, that’s one way to describe her.
As for her campaign announcement, it was quite something. Evidently she absolutely needed some rapper to lead the way by rapping a song about her.
NEW: Rapper Cameron McCloud starts rapping a rendition of "Ain't Never Scared" shortly before Jasmine Crockett takes the stage to announce her run for Senate.

Cringe rap wins votes! Or…not.
Here’s the thing, she has NO record to run on. None.
CROCKETT: "Turning Texas blue is what I want to talk to y'all today. There are people who say ain't no way. We tried it 50 kinds of ways. What Jasmine Crockett has is grandstanding, grandiose insults, and acting like she just walked out of the ghetto. Oh, and she doesn’t like guns.

Then again, no Democrats do unless it suits their narrative.
Keep in mind, she’s insisting she can win and the data shows she can. Except she isn’t sharing that data with anyone. You know what that tells me? There’s something fishy about the data and she’s not sharing it.
Never mind all that. Jasmine’s Senate run is all about President Trump.
Indeed. She’s pandering to her small base in her district, while hoping there are enough other progressives in the state who hate President Trump just as much as she does.
This Jasmine Crockett for Senate video is actually beyond parody.

It's just a montage of Trump saying mean things (many of which are true) about her.
Zero ideas, personality, or substance.
And running as simply an anti-Trump candidate in… Texas.

Big acting! Much drama! At least she’s not high.
Here’s what Texas voters now know about Jasmine Crockett. She was all in for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, while ensuring we all know she hates Donald Trump, and Melania.
I think she can win if she’s as much Jasmine as she can possibly dish out. Just Jasmine-maxxing straight to the Senate. https://t.co/wEHK0AZBzw

As for the issues facing Texas voters? You have to wade past the, everything is Donald Trump’s fault to figure out where she stands on actual issues.
This is looking like a Beto race all over again. This time without the skateboard.
