James Comey appears to be in the DOJ’s crosshairs once again, and, once again, conservatives are slobbering like Pavlov’s dogs, as we do every time a new indictment comes across the airwaves. Although we’ll no doubt get treated to lots of fiery speeches on the floor of Congress, which is always fun, I’m afraid justice for these seemingly untouchable elites is going to continue to be a tantalizing meal we’ll never actually get to sink our teeth into.

James Comey, FBI Director from 2013 to 2017,  is the poster child for slimy, self-serving political party animals.  He did everything in his power to kneecap a democratically-elected president for committing the cardinal sin of threatening the power of the Democrat party.  While this behavior is undoubtedly unethical, whether or not it’s ILLEGAL remains to be seen. Trump has already gone after Comey several times before. In fact, this has been going on for so long, a little refresher might be in order:

– September 2025: Comey was indicted by a federal grand jury in Virginia regarding his involvement with Crossfire Hurricane, a code name for opposition research done by Hillary Clinton’s campaign into imaginary Russian involvement in Trump’s 2016 presidential win. The case was dismissed over a technicality, namely, that the interim U.S. Attorney who brought the charges had been invalidly appointed.

– April 2026: The DOJ filed criminal charges in North Carolina over Comey’s social media post. The post included a picture of some shells on a beach arranged to spell out “8647” which, much to Comey’s apparent chagrin, could be interpreted to mean, “Get rid of the 47th president.”

– October 2026: Trump’s DOJ claims that Comey violated the Espionage Act by disclosing national defense information to a reporter. An investigation into this incident was apparently opened during Trump’s first term, closed by the Biden admin, and is now being reopened by Trump.

One challenge for the DOJ is that this leak allegedly happened in October of 2016, just outside of the ten-year statute of limitations.  The DOJ seeks to get around this by filing the charges in a document called a “criminal information” rather than an actual indictment.  They also claim cases involving national security aren’t subject to the statute.

For now, Comey is showing all the humility, concern, and remorse he showed the last few times:

Well, they’re back, again. It would almost be funny if it wasn’t such an appalling abuse of the Department of Justice, one that we cannot become numb to. Nothing’s changed with me. I’m still innocent, and I’m still not afraid of these people and I still believe in the independent judiciary. – James Comey

So, to recap, the scandal-ridden scumbag who in 2016 refused to charge Secretary of State Hillary Clinton with mishandling classified information on her private email server, even after admitting to the world that it was happening, is now being investigated AGAIN, this time for passing national security information to a reporter. And THIS investigation is only necessary because the party Comey is obviously serving shut down the original investigation as soon as Biden was elected and they had the power to do so.

I’m frustrated and I know I’m not the only one! I love my country and want desperately to believe that government by the people is indeed possible, that this American experiment is not a failure, but it seems more and more evident that only the extra slippery get ahead in our current political climate, and those are impossible to discipline. When only one party follows the rules, that party will always eventually lose. James Comey is just the latest example.

This is nothing more than ANOTHER deep state operative who will face no consequences for conspiring with people who mean this country harm to hamstring the political enemies of the Democrat party and overturn the will of the American voter. I for one am getting sick of  political theater that never results in any real consequences.
