Two days ago the Palestinian Authority banned all LGBTQ groups from holding any gatherings in the West Bank. Yesterday, Ilhan Omar, fresh off the lying liars presser she and Rashida Tlaib held, declared that any discussion of Palestine’s ban is a distraction.

LGBTQ rights are human rights and we should condemn any effort to infringe upon them.
But we should also condemn any effort to equate this with the occupation or use this as a distraction.

Did you catch all of that? In just two tweets, Ilhan did some epic fence straddling! But first, a little background.
“The Palestinian Authority has banned all LGBTQ political organizing in the West Bank in response to the news that a pro-LGBTQ advocacy group was planning to hold a gathering for its members at the end of the month.
The ban, which was first reported Sunday by the Jerusalem Post, was issued in response to the organizing efforts of Al-Qaws for Sexual & Gender Diversity in Palestinian Society, a pro-LGBTQ political group that held an event last month and was planning to hold another in the coming weeks.
Palestinian Authority police spokesperson Luay Zreikat said that LGBTQ events were “harmful to the higher values and ideals of Palestinian society” in justifying the ban. Zreikat also accused unspecified “dubious parties” of attempting to “create discord and harm civic peace in Palestinian society” through the group’s events.”
None of that matters to Omar. Instead, she and Rashida Tlaib are all about catering to the Palestinian Authority while doing their best to advocate for Israel being wiped off the map. As we reported, the anti-Semitic duo were denied entry into Israel for not only their advocacy for BDS, but also for the fact that their itinerary showed NO meetings with anyone from Israel… not a single government official or organization from Israel was even approached to meet with the two. Furthermore, the denial of entry was ALSO because of who the sponsor of the Tlaib/Omar trip was. MIFTAH is an horrendously evil virulent anti-Semitic group. Is it any wonder after all of that was made public that Israel would tell them NO?
Of course, lots of media firefighters went to bat for them while ignoring the multiple lies both uttered during that press conference.
In other words, to hell with Palestinians who are LGBTQ. Don’t bank on getting any assistance from the two Congresswoman, as that doesn’t fit their narrative.
What is their narrative?
Horrible Israeli tanks and guns on street corners 24/7. Denial of good hospital care because they are Palestinian. Enduring the humiliation of check points, and more. Omar said in her opening statement that the loss of freedom is completely and utterly Israel’s fault.
““The only way to preserve this unjust policy is to suppress people’s freedom of expression, freedom of association and freedom of movement,” she said. “We have a responsibility to conduct oversight over our government’s foreign policy and what happens with the millions of dollars we send in aid, so I would encourage my colleagues to visit, meet with the people we were going to meet, see the things we were going to see and hear the stories we were going to hear.”
Oh, I get it now. Palestine doesn’t oppress anyone and allows everyone to have freedom of expression, association, and movement. Israel does. Tell me again which one doesn’t allow women to vote and just banned LGBTQ groups from gathering? Why, that would be Palestine…NOT Israel!
That’s different because reasons! In other words, Ilhan is ordering us to quit pointing out her hypocrisy! That’s a distraction dammit!

Steele says: Omar and Tlaib are Islamists, working in conjunction with the Muslim Brotherhood, and at the very least sympathetic to offshoots such as Hamas, Al Qaeda, Al Shabab, etc. I think the inconsistencies in their positions don’t bother them much and aren’t going to give them cognitive dissonance; this is propaganda they spout to bring along the useful idiots on the left.

Charles N. Steele says: Yes, plain stupidity might be the answer. One might argue that many of these leftists can’t be stupid since they have PhDs, law degrees, etc. but ideology can short circuit one’s brain and lead one to the craziest incoherencies. Add hubris, and this might be the answer.
