Hunter And Ashley Biden Lose Extended Secret Service Protection

Of all the things that Joe Biden may or may not have approved in his last hours as president, this is the one that I can actually believe that he wanted. After all, when did old Joe not put his surviving children, Hunter and Ashley, first above anyone else?

Hunter Biden has not had an “easy” life since dear old Pop left office. His paintings aren’t selling. His book isn’t selling. The Los Angeles wildfires drove him and his family out of their rented home for the time being. The long and the short of it is, Hunter just isn’t popular or necessary any more. His ace-in-the-hole – his father’s influence and connections – have vanished into the ether. And left behind is a derelict pig of a man child who owes child support and legal fees, and has no way to support himself after wasting millions of dollars on hookers and blow.

The lack of funds was the reason that Hunter Biden and his attorneys moved to drop his lawsuit against former White House aide Garrett Ziegler over “leaks” from his infamous laptop. Hunter asked the judge right before he was scheduled to be deposed in the case to drop it due to lack of funds, and despite Ziegler’s objections, was allowed to end the lawsuit. Now, Hunter is not exactly poor – he may have ended one lawsuit, but he is still currently suing the IRS whistleblowers, Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler, who ended up bringing his tax evasion crimes to light when the IRS let the statute of limitations lapse on the biggest offenses. Shapley and Ziegler are also suing Hunter Biden’s hired gun defense attorney Abbe Lowell for defamation, and none of these lawsuits have been settled. So at the very least, there is money enough in the Biden coffers to keep Abbe Lowell happy, though we still don’t know who is paying him. Shapley and Ziegler, for their part, have just gotten promotions within the Treasury Department under Secretary Scott Bessent.

What happened next is solely on Hunter. With all his customary arrogance, Hunter assumed that he wouldn’t have to be deposed in the Garrett Ziegler lawsuit because the judge would allow the case to be dismissed – so he and his family LEFT TOWN. And not only did they do that, they LEFT THE COUNTRY. Hunter and company were then spotted in his current wife Melissa’s home country of South Africa, complete with Secret Service protection.

California District Court Judge Herman Vera granted Hunter’s motion to dismiss the case Thursday after the former first son claimed he was too broke to continue suing former Trump staffer Garrett Ziegler and his nonprofit Marco Polo.

But photographs show Hunter was already in Cape Town the day the case was dismissed, staying in a $500-a-night beachfront villa described on its website as an “ultra-luxurious designer home with spectacular 180 degrees unobstructed views of the sea.”

Ziegler’s lawyers alleged to the court last week that Hunter had fled to South Africa to potentially “avoid his deposition in this case,” which was set for this week, after originally being planned for February.

“He was in South Africa before the judge even decided the case,” Ziegler said Friday.

“That means he is assuming his daddy’s appointee is gonna rubber stamp what he wants.”

Hunter and his South African-born wife Melissa Cohen were spotted walking around the high-end shopping district of Cape Town with their Secret Service detail this week in photos provided to The Post by independent reporter Laura Loomer.

This little luxury family vacation, for someone who claims to be “broke,” is one thing – someone is obviously footing the bill, and so long as it isn’t the American taxpayer, then whomever it is knows what they are wasting their money on. But Hunter Biden and his family no longer qualify for Secret Service protection under the law. THAT is what the American taxpayer is being obligated to cover.

The scandal-prone 55-year-old son of Joe Biden does not qualify for statutory Secret Service protection, which only applies to former presidents’ children aged under 16, per the Former Presidents Protection Act (codified in 18 USC, Section 3056).

But Biden issued an executive memorandum before he left the presidency indefinitely extending Secret Service protection for his son, according to Trump administration sources.

“While we can’t comment on the specifics of our protective means and methods, we can confirm Mr. Biden is an authorized protectee of the US Secret Service,” Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told The Post on Friday.

Guglielmi would not confirm that 18 Secret Service agents have traveled to Cape Town with Hunter.

But he said, “Our agents are trained, authorized and mandated by federal law to provide security anywhere in the world for individuals under our protection.”

And yes, it is true that Donald Trump extended Secret Service protection to his adult children for a six month period after leaving office in 2021 (when the only one legally entitled to that protection would have been Barron) – but so did Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama. So the extention was hardly a break with precedent. Apparently, Joe Biden gave his children an additional six months of coverage as well, which is not the “indefinite” extension that was first reported. But Hunter Biden had to know how pleading poverty in order to drop a lawsuit (which would have undoubtedly proved embarrassing for him), and skipping the country for a luxury vacation with security provided by the Secret Service, would look. At least, one would ASSUME that Hunter knew how it would look. I mean, it’s not nearly as bad as denying the child he fathered his last name, but it’s a bad look.

And it got the attention of President Trump.

When President Trump says he’s “going to take a look at something,” it means something is going to happen. And it did.

The full post reads:

Hunter Biden has had Secret Service protection for an extended period of time, all paid for by the United States Taxpayer. There are as many as 18 people on this Detail, which is ridiculous! He is currently vacationing in, of all places, South Africa, where the Human Rights of people has been strenuously questioned. Because of this, South Africa has been taken off our list of Countries receiving Economic and Financial Assistance. Please be advised that, effective immediately, Hunter Biden will no longer receive Secret Service protection. Likewise, Ashley Biden who has 13 agents will be taken off the list.

This single statement is a doozy, and the biggest bombshell is contained in the last sentence. Ashley Biden has THIRTEEN AGENTS on her personal Secret Service detail??? Ashley is married, but has no children. How on earth does she qualify for THIRTEEN AGENTS??

Now, the details can’t be removed immediately – there is paperwork to file, after all.

The Secret Service is working to “comply” with the president’s directive, according to a spokesperson for the agency.

“We are aware of the President’s decision to terminate protection for Hunter and Ashley Biden,” Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi said in a statement. “The Secret Service will comply and is actively working with the protective details and the White House to ensure compliance as soon as possible.”

Agents guarding Hunter and Ashley cannot leave their posts until the necessary paperwork formalizing Trump’s order is put in, sources told The Post.

The process of dismantling the taxpayer protection provided to the Biden clan will begin Tuesday, according to sources.

But if Hunter and Ashley really believe that they need extra security, they can pay for it. Ashley has largely stayed out of the public eye, and has mostly appeared with her parents during different events. She has had multiple issues as well – remember, at one point Hunter, Ashley, and Beau’s widow Hallie were all battling drug addiction, and this led former NBC anchor Chuck Todd to say YEARS LATER that Biden put his political desires over the welfare of his children. Ashley’s relationship with her father has also been questionable, though publicly she has stood by him. The truth is that Hunter’s unbearable arrogance is what brought attention to their extended Secret Service coverage, and ended it for both him and Ashley.

In the grand scheme of things, an additional six months of Secret Service protection would not be a huge deal – though in this era of DOGE, it definitely should draw some scrutiny. However, Hunter Biden is an asshole of monumental proportions, and waltzing around South Africa on a family getaway, with taxpayer funded protection, will not earn him any sympathy. Hunter is 55 years old and is a useless dilettante who will eventually end up mooching off his own children – once he blows through whatever he gets after Joe passes away. He’s been coddled and enabled his entire life, and there is no sign that he will ever change, even with his source of income – Pop – now gone. He got his entire legal slate wiped clean by his father. He doesn’t deserve anything extra from the American taxpayer. And as for Ashley? I hope she is able to go live a normal, non-political life. But if she wants to blame someone for losing her Secret Service protection early, she need look no farther than her idiot brother.

Basically, Ashley will now have to ask a friend to guard the bathroom when she takes a shower.

I’ve never liked USSS protection for extended family or even the President after he leaves office. He can protect himself the exact same way the rest of us do – get a concealed carry license.

And he should be protected by the might of the US military. Because any attempt on the life of a former president by any nation state or terror group should immediately bring down the full wrath of said military in such a way it’s spoken of by the bad guys’ posterity for 4 generations.
