The media, who really want President Trump found guilty of anything and everything, is clutching pearls over the appearance of Speaker Mike Johnson at the trial in New York City.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) joined former President Donald Trump at his criminal trial in New York on Tuesday, becoming the highest-ranking Republican official in the country to lend support to Trump and echo his attacks on the U.S. justice system.

Johnson is the latest GOP official to visit the court as he stands accused of falsifying business records to hide hush money payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 presidential election. North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, who’s been mentioned as a possible Trump 2024 running mate, Rep. Byron Donalds (Fla.), and Rep. Cory Mills (Fla.) also joined Trump at the courthouse on Tuesday.

Of course, if anyone has been paying attention to this sham of a trial, nearly every witness that Alvin Bragg has called to the stand has added nothing to the case, and in many instances has torpedoed his case against Trump. Furthermore, it’s highly evident in my opinion, that Stormy Daniels was only called to the stand in order to embarrass Trump, not make the definitive case against him for the supposed misuse of campaign funds. 

Not only that, but what is the actual crime Trump is being charged with? No one seems to know, and the judge doesn’t care about those pesky little details. So much so, that he’s losing CNN and others in the liberal media over this. 

“The material that came in was not relevant to this criminal case at all. And I think it shows that she was trying to ‘get Trump.’ I actually thought there was a motive there.”

Not a good look. Not. At. All.

However, what is more important is that *Gasp! Speaker Mike Johnson and others are supporting Trump and, clutch all the pearls, sitting IN the courtroom with him. How DARE he??!! 

The Speaker’s appearance in Manhattan signals that, despite Trump’s swirling legal proceedings and the ongoing testimony in the hush money case, House Republicans are standing firm behind the former president, who wrapped up the GOP nomination in March.

Again, exactly what is the crime that Trump is being charged with? Bragg won’t tell us. What the media IS trying to tell us is that everyone who is making a personal appearance in the courtroom isn’t there to just support Trump, they are trying to curry favor.

Uh huh… well, this is how the Associated Press is framing Johnson’s appearance. 

Standing outside the courthouse, the House speaker showed just how far Trump’s Republican allies are willing to go in their support for the former president as seeks to retake the White House.

“I came here again today on my own to support President Trump because I am one of hundreds of millions of people and one citizen who is deeply concerned about this,” he said.

Evidently, that kind of concern is not allowed by Republicans or conservatives. Trump is guilty of all the things. How dare anyone support that? 

And, on cue, up pops Liz Cheney to scold Mike Johnson, and the backfire is delicious.

Yes, Liz went WAY out over her skis on this one. Oopsie! 

Again, what the media and various political figures like Liz absolutely refuse to admit is that this case truly is a sham. 

Even for those of us who have long been critics of this case and its dubious legal theory, it has been surprising to see that the prosecutors had no more evidence than what we previously knew about. The assumption was that no rational prosecutor would base a major criminal case virtually entirely on the testimony of Michael Cohen who was just recently denounced by a judge as a serial perjurer peddling “perverse” theories in court.

The calculus of Alvin Bragg is now obvious. He is counting on the jury convicting Trump regardless of the evidence. He believes that all he needs is to check the boxes on the elements of the crime, no matter how unbelievable the vehicle.

It sure does sound like Bragg is hoping the jury won’t engage in critical thinking as they sit through this mess. 

Johnson makes some excellent points during his speech. 

“The president’s actions in this matter were previously reviewed and no charges were filed. Why is that? Because there’s no crime here,” he added. “It’s so corrupt.”

“What we’ve got here is a partisan Democrat district attorney, we have a Biden-donor judge and we have an assistant DA who was recently a top official at the Department of Justice — Biden’s DOJ — and recently received over $10,000 in payments from the Democratic National Committee.”

It’s been evident from the beginning that this entire trial is highly partisan. Yet the media, who has Donald Trump living rent-free in their heads, refuses to acknowledge that. Instead, they will clutch all the pearls and whine about Mike Johnson appearing at court in support of the President.
