Harry Reid’s Staffers- If You Like Your Cushy Government Plan …

Harry Reid, a ferocious defender of Obamacare, has decided to allow his very own staffers the privilege of keeping their cushy government insurance plans. Those staffers will not be forced into the exchange and conflicts with a statement made by Reid in September during heated debates regarding the new law.

“Let’s stop these really juvenile political games- the one dealing with healthcare for Senators and House members and our staff. We are going to be part of exchanges, that’s what the law says and we’ll be part of that,” Reid claimed at the time.

According to CNN, although Reid and his personal staffers will buy insurance through the exchange, the law allows for lawmakers to give their committee and leadership staffers the option to keep their federal employee insurance plans. It appears that Reid will hypocritically allow those staffers to do just that. So why the lecture about “juvenile games”  Dirty Harry, when it is obvious that the critics on the Right, were right? Reid will be the ONLY congressional leader that will allow his staff to remain on the government employee plan as the others have encouraged their staffers to sign up through the exchanges.

Reid Obamacare

While America’s families are fighting a broken website, higher premiums and deductibles, massive insurance plan cancellations and having their hours cut from employers, Dirty Harry’s staffers will be able to greet the Holiday season free from the stress that Obamacare’s havoc has wreaked on their fellow Americans.

So to Harry’s staff, if you like your “cushy”  plan, you can keep it, period. The rest of the country can fend for themselves. Reid’s fierce defense of Obamacare opens up a new window for the GOP come election time. Republicans will be eager to point this out once the campaign season begins. I’m wondering if other top congressional leaders will soon follow suit. What a predicament that could cause them if their own staffers cry foul after Reid’s decision to exercise this “option” in the law.  How would they then be able to defend Obamacare while fighting with staffers calling for the same privileges afforded to Reid’s staffers. This could be a mess.
