George Santos Dodges a Bullet in the House

New York Rep. George Santos — he of the fantastic stories and prevarications — dodged a bullet in a House vote on Wednesday. House members were to vote on whether or not to expel the freshman Republican for fraud, money laundering, and false statements. Instead, they punted the expulsion resolution back to the Ethics Committee.

The vote went pretty much as you might expect — along party lines.

It doesn’t change things much since the Ethics Committee has been investigating Santos since March. But it bought House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy some time. As McCarthy told reporters on Tuesday:

I think the George Santos indictment is very serious. I also know in America you’re innocent till proven guilty. But I don’t want to sit around and wait. So what I would like to do is move this to Ethics.

However, four Republicans weren’t quite as lenient as McCarthy. Reps. Anthony D’Esposito (R-NY), Marc Molinaro (R-NY) Nick LaLota (R-NY), and Tony Gonzales (R-TX) had wanted Santos to be expelled. Eventually they voted to refer him to Ethics, but not until Esposito tore into him on the House floor, calling him a “stain on this institution.”

George Santos may have dodged the expulsion bullet, but he couldn’t avoid getting heckled by progressive New York Democrats as he tried to talk to reporters afterwards. And by “progressive New York Democrats” I mean the usual suspects: Reps. Jamaal Bowman and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Bowman shouted Resign! Save yourself! Have some dignity! while AOC told him you gotta go, you gotta give it up!

Like that’s gonna happen. George Santos is positively shameless. I’m in full agreement with Rep. Esposito: Santos is a stain on the House. Plus, he reminds me of Jon Lovitz’s “Pathological Liar” from “Saturday Night Live.” Yeah, yeah, that’s the ticket!

Yeah, George Santos Stinks. So Does Adam Schiff

However, Jamaal Bowman and AOC have no business talking about “dignity” when a member of their party stinks as bad as Santos.

That would be California Rep. Adam Schiff. And now on the heels of the Santos vote, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) has issued a resolution calling for Schiff to be removed from Congress.

At her official Twitter account, Luna tweeted:

Schiff lied to the American people. He used his position on House Intel to push a lie that cost American taxpayers millions of dollars. He is a dishonor to the House of Representatives.

Then, at her personal account, she took aim at Schiff:

Knowingly using your position on House Intel to push a lie that ripped apart our country, cost taxpayers millions of dollars, and authorized spying on a US President and then proceeding to double down on the lie within days of the Durham report coming out makes you unfit for office. Ethics should investigate.

What Luna is referring to are the revelations from the Durham report, which disclosed that Schiff’s staff pressured a university researcher into investigating Trump-Russia claims. They claimed an alleged link between the Trump organization and the Russian-owned Alfa Bank.

Staff for Schiff and Sen. Jack Reed (D-RI) met with a pair of university researchers, asking them to review a news article about the link. From the Durham report:

University-I Researcher-3 said he responded by saying that it would be inappropriate for a public university to do that, and suggested they contact a government research entity.

Reed Staffer-2 then said, “We are now in charge,” and one of the HPSCI staffers said that their boss (Congressman Adam Schiff) would soon take over leadership of [the Intel committee]. University-I Researcher-3 took the comment as a mild threat.

At that point, the researcher then ‘dragged’ the other researcher out of the meeting.

University-1 Researcher-3 told investigators that he told University-1 Researcher-2, “Don’t touch this with a ten foot pole, stay away from this.”

Yeah, George Santos stinks. But Adam Schiff’s “bullschiff” rivals the Santos bullshit.

Let’s Not Forget the Bidens

Earlier this month, House Republicans released a report which showed that via Hunter Biden, the Biden family profited handsomely while Joe Biden was Vice President. As the Wall Street Journal wrote, “… one conclusion is that it’s good to be related to Joseph Robinette Biden.”

Hunter Biden and his relatives traded profitably off the Biden name with transactions that suggest the main family business is influence peddling.

And the infamous Hunter laptop? Remember the 51 former U.S. intelligence officials who claimed the New York Post article about Hunter Biden’s laptop was “Russian disinformation?”

Yeah about that. It appears that the letter may have been Biden campaign op. In fact, several of the signers donated thousands of dollars to the Biden campaign, according to the FEC. They include Obama CIA Director and Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, as well as James Clapper, Obama’s Director of National Intelligence. Not only that, but tech entrepreneur and letter signer Peter Corsell contributed a whopping $15,600 to the Biden Campaign.

The “walls” may be “closing in,” as liberal media repeats ad nauseam, on Rep. George Santos. But he’s far from the only corruptocrat in Washington. The stench of corruption pervades the Democrat party, and extends from Capitol Hill to the White House itself.

What’s really despicable is the piling on by the Nassau County Republicans. This from the “machine” of the D’Amato brothers, Joe Margiotta, and the 2% kickback requirement from county employees.

Nassau County used to be the banner GOP county in New York State. They lost the GOP voter registration edge back in 2008 and have never recovered. I can’t imagine why.

Sorry but I just can’t be bothered to care about this dude’s malfeasance until the powers that be start applying the law equally to other Congresscritters.

We may get our wish, with the release of the Durham report and the resolution for expulsion of Adam Schiff *crosses fingers*.

I have my doubts but if that does happen, please remind me of this conversation so I can admit being wrong.

    Yeah, George Santos stinks. But
That “but” is doing some heavy lifting. While the cornucopia of prevarications are troublesome, Santos has been indicted for some actual crimes*. I don’t know that Schiff has actually broken laws outside of his speech (which is protected by the Speech & Debate clause). Now, if you wanted to compare him to Ilhan Omar….

(* Meaning things that are actual statutes, not just being a bloviator. I do not intend to say that he is guilty of those crimes, merely that they are actually crimes of which he is accused.)

As it is I don’t care one way or another about another miserable excuse for a human being in Congress. With so many lice the entire building should be cleansed and fumigated.
