According to Merrick Garland, the DOJ answers to no one except the American people. Yes, that’s the gist of his testimony before the House Judiciary committee this morning.
“Our job is not to take orders from the President, from Congress, or from anyone else, about who or what to criminally investigate,” Garland will say. “As the President himself has said, and I reaffirm here today: I am not the President’s lawyer. I will also add that I am not Congress’s prosecutor. The Justice Department works for the American people. Our job is to follow the facts and the law, wherever they lead. And that is what we do.”
Who are you going to believe? Garland, or the plethora of information that has shown the DOJ has consistently worked for everyone BUT the American people?
“Yes, I protect him and his family from investigation of their influence peddling scheme and I destroy norms by aggressively attempting to bankrupt and imprison his entire opposition party, but I wouldn’t say I’m his personal attorney, no.” https://t.co/0RFbb9Fyvt

The DOJ and courts have held Americans in jail and given them exceptionally long sentences in regards to January 6, yet Ray Epps was barely charged.
Under questioning from Thomas Massie, Republican of Kentucky, Garland speaks about Ray Epps, a man swept up in a conspiracy theory that he was a covert government asset who helped instigate the attack on the Capitol. The narrative was largely based on the fact that Epps was never charged despite being at the Capitol on Jan. 6. This week, Epps was charged and will plead guilty in Washington today.
The DOJ refused up until now to charge Ray Epps with anything while throwing all the books at other January 6 defendants. And Garland is telling us he works for US and no one else? Sure, pull the other leg.
The Washington Examiner came up with a list of very good questions that Merrick Garland should be asked.
And…as we are already seeing live during this hearing, Garland is blatantly lying.
SEE IT: Biden's Attorney General Merrick Garland asked, "Have you had personal contact with anyone at FBI HQ about the Hunter Biden investigation?"

Answer: "Uh, I don't recollect the answer to that question." WATCH pic.twitter.com/pvO1H0Dbz0
“I don’t recall…” is an answer alright. If he didn’t have ANY contact with anyone at the FBI regarding Hunter Biden then he should’ve been able to answer a flat NO. Instead we get treated to a lying liars tap dance.
And goodness gracious, Garland is really on point with his tap dancing! It seems that he is unable to say if he had ANY conversations with David Weiss because reasons.
…Garland said that "no one had the authority to turn him down" in other U.S. Attorneys refusing to bring tax cases against Hunter Biden. He said that they could however refuse to "partner with him." The suggestion was that Weiss could still have brought the cases in those…

Again, he could’ve answered with a flat Yes or No in regards to if any conversations took place. The details of the conversations can remain confidential if those details break legal ethics. But Garland didn’t even want to go down that road.
Remember, Garland had to be dragged kicking and screaming into addressing the issues of Hunter Biden, whistleblowers, and appointing David Weiss as special counsel.
As I’m watching the hearing, and yes, cringing at how some of the Republicans are handling themselves (Matt Gaetz – put a sock in your histrionics please!), it’s obvious to me that Garland will do everything he can to protect those who are pulling his strings.
Rep. McClintock: "Looking at the appointment of Jack Smith. He was deeply involved in the IRS scandal. His malicious prosecution of Gov. McDonnell was unanimously overturned by the Supreme Court… You appointed him to prosecute Joe Biden's chief rival."

Sorry Merrick, that is a non-answer if I ever heard one. This is a hearing where you are answerable to the American people.
Garland insists there is only ONE tier of justice.
Asked about allegations of a “two-tiered” justice system, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland maintained that the Justice Department “treats everyone alike, regardless of party, regardless of ethnicity, regardless of wealth.”
“I understand that people may not understand why particular investigations are conducted in particular ways until the facts come out,” he said. “That’s what we have a court for, and all of the explanations will come out.”
Isn’t that just swell? Supposedly we deplorables fail to realize all the intricacies of how the DOJ works. In other words, we are dumb and they are the smart people in the room.
.@RepThomasMassie: "@elonmusk supported Biden but then he became a critic of the administration and exposed the censorship regime. Now the DoJ has opened not one but two investigations of Elon Musk. And it goes right back to that ‘two tiers of justice’ that we have been pointing out for the last three years and longer.
We are supposed to believe, pinky swear!, that the Department of Justice under Merrick Garland’s reign is working hard to help the American people. Thus far, in today’s testimony, we are seeing and hearing quite the opposite.
