I just finished reading Eric Trump’s book, “Under Siege.” It is eye-opening on a multitude of levels.

Did you know that once the world shutdown due to Covid that the Trump Organization went into overdrive to ensure that every single one of their employees was paid?

Did you know that, once the Paycheck Protection (PPP) act was passed, every single Trump business was forbidden to apply for any funds? The media tried to make it a story when tenants who LEASED on a Trump property applied for funds, but the Trump Organization never ever benefitted from PPP.

From his early childhood days, Eric was exposed to a life in high society and a major work ethic. He went with his dad on many a construction site visit and was taught everything from electrical to drywall to ductwork to finish work and more. But Erica, Ivanka, and Don Jr. were also taught something else very important.

“Our father didn’t just want us to have money, he wanted us to understand money. I was raised to be motivated to work and gain skills to be successful. Donald Trump understood that success never comes in the form of a handout; it always comes in the form of work.”

Additionally, they were taught about paying attention to ALL the details. Even to the point of noticing that one burned out lightbulb in the midst of thousands of lights, a dripping faucet, drywall not finished correctly, missing grout, or even an electrical outlet not installed properly.

And those lessons were greatly needed when President Trump announced his first run for office.

Eric correctly points out in Chapter Four that far too many politicians, no matter the party, have enjoyed all the perks of the political business, including the opportunities to jet around on Air Force One, or sleep in the Lincoln Bedroom. As he notes, Donald Trump had/has his own jets, Trump Tower, golf courses, Mar-A-Lago and more. The political perks that come with the office were actually a step backwards.

And then Donald Trump beat the pants off Hillary. Once he did, the knives REALLY got going. Which led to an immediate decision by President Trump. He totally distanced himself from the entire Trump Organization.

What none of them understood at the time was what the cost would be for the business in regards to opportunities lost because the pitches couldn’t be made directly to Donald Trump. Even more so, was the additional cost when all the law fare began. Furthermore, the organization had to be very careful about people from other nations staying at any of their properties. You can darned well bet it would’ve been ‘he’s getting gifts from China!’ tantrums. So…

“We decided that every year, in January, the company would write a check to the U.S. Treasury for any profits associated with income from foreign government business. That’s right, not only did we track clients associated with foreign governments but we also calculated the profit and sent a check to the United States Treasury every single January. None of this was required by law—and, of course, was never touted or even mentioned by the media.”

Did YOU know that? Believe me, I had no idea. Because the media refused to report that.

President Trump tried to host a world leaders summit at Doral, on his dime. The media went batshit crazy. And so, we taxpayers ended up footing the bill.

In Chapter 7, Eric talks about how the media and Democrats vilified his long support for St. Jude. He ended up having to totally step away from his work there, after raising over $30 million, and changing the foundation name.

From 2017 onward, Eric Trump was handed 112 subpoenas. Yes, you read that correctly. 112.

Tish James brought a case that SHOULD’VE gone to a judge in the commercial courts, but every request was denied. Instead the case was handed to Judge Engoron, who has ZERO experience in commerce law. Which explains a great deal about his rulings and comments doesn’t it? How much taxpayer money was spent on that trial or the trial involving Alvin Bragg? Well north of $500 million, and that doesn’t include the crap in Georgia.

“Under Siege” is an illuminating and infuriating look at how law fare against all the Trump family was used as a bludgeon. No one in the Trump family, nor many of their employees, could sneeze without a subpoena or search warrant showing up.

By the way, not only were Melania and Barron’s rooms pawed through, private medical files  (HIPAA anyone?) were seized.

And then the entire family along with the entirety of the Trump Organization was de-banked. Think about that for a moment. A business that is buildings, tenants, lease-holders, land, and so much more were shut down by their banks. pg 646-648 Purely out of political spite. Eric was told by bank CEO’s that this was “out of their control.” pg 644. Uh huh… SURE it was.

“They, as part of the establishment and the Left, wanted to see us fail. Humiliated. They wanted headlines. Bankrupt and gone.” pg 649

As Eric points out – the Trump family stood their ground, together. They did so out of love, honor, and loyalty to each other. That resolve was hardened even further after President Trump was nearly assassinated in Butler, PA. Prior to that attack, Eric himself is on record multiple times requesting additional security. pg 753

Even the family, President Trump included, has been left in the dark about the shooter or his motive. pg 762-764 Unbelievable.

Most of all, this is a book about how a family, including Trump Organization employees, stood their ground for over TEN YEARS against the most egregious and vicious law fare of all time.

Why did they fight? For America. For this Republic. Read Eric’s book and you’ll understand why they fought, and why we should too.
