Florida Lawmaker Goes After Libs of TikTok

It never fails: if progressives don’t like what some conservatives say on social media, they try to stop their speech. Like a Florida lawmaker who is trying to deplatform the popular Libs of TikTok from Shopify.

Florida Rep Says Libs of TikTok Uses “Hate Speech”

If you’ve ever seen the Twitter page “Libs of TikTok,” you know it’s chock full of far left wackadoo teachers who are obsessed with pronouns — and not in the grammatical sense, either. Moreover, a good chunk of these fruitcakes sport green hair and nose rings, along with a fixation on their gender identity. They train their little charges to obsess about these issues, too.

Now consider that all of these teachers’ videos are on TikTok for anyone to see — including the Chinese, who harvest their data. Because, you see, TikTok is owned by ByteDance, a Chinese company. And the CCP has been merrily harvesting Americans’ data. But never conflate a radical progressive with someone who has common sense, right?

At any rate, the teachers’ TikTok videos are public for anyone to watch. Meanwhile, Libs of TikTok has been publicizing the videos for them.

But the poor dears don’t like it when normal people poke fun of them. So the execrable Taylor Lorenz, the internet culture reporter for the Washington Post, flew to their rescue and doxxed the woman behind the Twitter page.

Yet Libs of TikTok carries on. The site has become popular enough to sell merchandise at Shopify.

However, a member of the Florida House of Representatives wants Shopify to deplatform them. Anna Eskamani, who represents FL House District 47 (Orlando), is using her bully pulpit to pressure Shopify to ban Libs of TikTok from selling their merch. It’s because, in part, that LOTT has labeled the efforts of progressive educators as “grooming.” On top of that, LOTT will offer a discount if someone enters the word “GROOMER” when they make a purchase.

And apparently Anna Eskamani sees the word “groomer” as hate speech or something.

Groomer: The New Anti-Gay Slur

The effort to keep Libs of TikTok from selling their gear at Shopify started with Media Matters, which posted an article on Friday declaring that the term “groomer” carries anti-LGBTQ bigotry:

“In the last several months, as anti-LGBTQ rhetoric has ramped up on the right, Libs of TikTok has become a favorite among right-wing media figures and outlets. A significant driver in the fabricated “groomer” narrative, its Twitter and Instagram accounts have been used repeatedly to misgender people, target teachers who support their LGBTQ students, and flag Pride Month events, at least two of which were later targeted by white supremacist organizations, including the Proud Boys and Patriot Front.”

Cry more.

Media Matters has concluded that allowing LOTT to sell their gear on Shopify “seems to be in violation of its acceptable use policy.” What’s more, Libs of TikTok is also in violation of Instagram’s policies, too:

“Libs of TikTok is seemingly also violating Instagram’s policies by using the platform’s Stories link sticker feature to promote the merchandise shop. Instagram also has policies against content that contains “credible threats or hate speech, content that targets private individuals to degrade or shame them …”

About that .…

To Shopify’s credit, however, they told Media Matters to sod off:

“After conducting an investigation, we determined that this merchant is not currently in violation of Shopify’s Acceptable Use Policy (AUP).”

Besides, watch this teacher’s TikTok video in which she wants her middle school students to select their pronouns and then tell me this isn’t “grooming.” It’s certainly brainwashing.

A Florida Official Should Not Bully Companies

It’s one thing for Media Matters to try to deplatform a social media site which they despise. It’s quite another for a government official to do so.

Florida Press Secretary Christina Pushaw tweeted:

“I’m horrified that a government official, Anna Eskamani, is using her position to push a company to deplatform a private citizen due to a political disagreement.”

But hasn’t that been the modus operandi of progressives for a very long time?

If they can’t get their way through legislation or through public opinion, they shut down their opposition through the courts. Or through government officials, like Anna Eskamani, who use their influence to silence conservatives, often via their oligarchic friends.

The good thing, however, is that normal Americans have discovered the lengths to which progressive teachers and their vile unions are trying to groom their children — thanks in part to Libs of TikTok. We have come to that tipping point where we normies are, in the words of the late William F. Buckley, “are standing athwart history, yelling Stop!” Enough is enough.

Scary – you can bet the Chinese ARE taking their middle-schoolers seriously and teaching them the skills and discipline needed for the success they will enjoy when they come over here as adults and take all our serious jobs.

May I use “Sahib” as my pronoun?

  • Purpleslog says:

Did you mean to write that Libs of TikTok is owned by ByteDance? If that is a typo, please correct that. If that is not a typo, you need to provide that evidence.

  • SoCal Exile says:

Minor correction: Libs of TikTok isn’t owned by ByteDance.

As I have said many times and will continue to say: There is no such thing as “hate speech” in my country. That’s one of the things that makes my country so great.

And in an ideal world, people like Anna would be thrown out of office the instant they submitted any law like that for a vote.

IOW, a fascist wants the company to censor them.

the term “groomer” carries anti-LGBTQ bigotry
Primarily because we’re seeing some huge portion of actual pedophilic groomers are “LGBTQ+”.

Wow, that entire quoted paragraph from Media Matters is full of lies.

But hasn’t that been the modus operandi of progressives for a very long time?
Look, progressives are not NAZIs or communists or socialists in the strictest sense. But they are more than willing to use the tools and techniques of any of them to achieve their end goal – which is the same utopian BS as the others.

People can’t ask the Government to protect them from having their foolish behavior pointed out.
