CNN will hold another one its town hall broadcasts, but this one is their most shameful and exploitative program yet.
It’s because Wednesday’s town hall will feature survivors of the Parkland school shooting, and their families.
Yes, just one short week after the most traumatic experience of these kids’ lives, CNN will rip their wounds open again.

But it’s good for ratings, you see, as well as scoring political points.
Moreover, if it’s anything like Saturday’s Ft. Lauderdale rally against guns, it’ll feature raw emotions, tears, and misinformation.
Look, I fully understand that we have a real problem in this country with gun violence. Furthermore, I don’t know of anyone — Republican or Democrat — who relishes kids being shot and killed at school. Even the much-maligned NRA doesn’t do a Happy Dance when there’s a shooting, despite what some nut jobs at Twitter might claim.
However, emotions don’t make for reasonable discussion. Nor do sobbing teenagers contribute much in the way of cogent and rational proposals. I’m sorry, but they’re not adults, and their cognitive processes haven’t matured. It’s simple psychology.
Ah, but unfortunately the media have now turned victims into experts. If you’ve suffered something grievous — especially if it’s their pet whipping boy — you too can be declared an authority. They’ll make you a household name, too.
I give you Exhibits A and B: the 9/11 Jersey Girls, and anti-war mom Cindy Sheehan.
But as long as CNN is holding town halls for victims of violent crimes, I have some ideas.
Maybe CNN should hold a town hall with the mothers of these three precious babies, killed in Chicago in three separate shooting incidents just one year ago. Their mamas loved them, too.
But to CNN it’s probably just another day in Chicago, and just more inner city shooting victims. Ho hum, we won’t attract eyeballs with that.
Or how about a town hall with the families of MS-13 victims? After all, President Trump addressed two such families in his State of the Union just last month. Wouldn’t they be worth a town hall broadcast?
That won’t happen. Because that would be “scapegoating DREAMers,” as liberal darling Sen. Kamala Harris charged.
No, CNN wants to make hay out of the grief and rage of teenagers for sheer politics. Worse yet, they’re appealing to internet-age kids’ desire for celebrity. But the town hall will end, CNN will quickly move on to other hot button topics, and they’ll discard these kids like used tissues. And at a time when these teens are at their most fragile after that horrific shooting.
CNN, the Most Trusted Name in News? More like the most Disgusting Name in News.
But who will be writing the meme filled scripts to be referenced at the microphones?
Where will the “unexpected” vocabulary come from?
Rewrites from the LAST “debate”/resolution?
What words and memes will be forbidden THIS time?
Why can we have town halls for all, all of these lives are important. But if we can have this tragedy but an opportunity to stop the violence and stop the bureaucracy, why not?
Lauri,
To answer your question, because nothing offered by grieving, irrational, and inexperienced teenagers will have any impact on gun violence, it will merely attack the enemies of the left, and take away freedoms from law abiding citizens. This is the ultimate goal of the left, a totalitarian regime, in the mold of their heroes (Stalin, Mao, Hitler, Chavez, etc.)
I always take guidance from hysterical traumatized teenagers being manipulated by fakenews media
