Ebola America: More Healthcare Workers Monitored, Calls for CDC Director to Resign

Yesterday, we learned the identity of the brave, young nurse who’s tested positive for Ebola, and is now herself fighting the virus. And that Ebola funding has been diverted by the Obama Administration and the CDC to—big shocker—priorities other than Ebola. Further, it’s been reported that approximately 70 other healthcare workers also had contact with the now-deceased Ebola patient, Thomas Eric Duncan and, consequently, monitoring has been broadened to include them. The new observations are in addition to the original 48 people Duncan came into contact with prior to isolation.

“On Monday, the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the infection of the nurse means the agency must broaden the pool of people getting close monitoring. Authorities have said they do not know how the nurse was infected, but they suspect some kind of breach in the hospital’s protocol.”

Hmm…as recently as about 48 hours ago, there was, according to the CDC talking head, Dr. Tom Frieden, just one other person being watched who reportedly came into direct contact with the nurse who now has Ebola. Now that’s ballooned to at least 70 more who treated Duncan. And—get this—76% of surveyed nurses report they’ve received no official policy on admitting patients with Ebola, and 85% report they’ve received no educational training sessions.

Let that sink in.

Most nurses say they’ve received no admitting policy and no training on how to deal with Ebola. Just. Wow.

The information leaking out seems to morph daily, conflicting with information released literally hours earlier. Besides the hazmat, something stinks in Dallas.

Tom Frieden
Tom Frieden, Stepford Doctor. “This is not the Ebola you’re looking for…”

Last night, the O’Reilly Factor’s Bill O’Reilly called for the resignation of CDC director, Dr. Tom Frieden. Dr. Manny Alvarez, also of FOX News, called for the same in an op-ed he penned. And with that I couldn’t agree more. Why? Because Dr. Freiden is not being forthcoming with us, and I’d even argue he’s either flat out lying about Ebola, or doesn’t know what in blazes he’s talking about. At best, Dr. Freiden is little more than a propagandist for the Obama Administration. In case you missed it, here’s some further proof:

Last week, Dr. Freiden said this during a presser (emphasis added):

“In West Africa, we are surging the response not only of CDC where we already have more than 130 people in the field, but also throughout the U.S. government. The president has leaned forward to make sure we’re acting very proactively there, and the Defense Department is on the ground already strengthening the response,” Centers for Disease Control Director Dr. Tom Frieden told reporters in a Tuesday evening briefing.”

Did anyone else catch that unusual word choice from Dr. Freiden? Well, let’s take a short ride on the WayBack Machine:

Remember these?

And these:

Surely, the CDC Director’s curious word choice is just a coincidence, right? Certainly, he’s not just another propaganda arm for the Obama Administration, right? I mean, who doesn’t use the phrase “Lean Forward” in everyday conversation?

Further, Dr. Freiden has asserted that the outbreak is as bad, or worse, than the rampant spread of AIDS in the 1980’s. So why in the world would he not want our nation secured? Dr. Freiden’s rationale for advocating against a travel ban on the region where Ebola has exploded is absolutely asinine:

“‘We really need to be clear that we don’t inadvertently increase the risk to people in this country by making it harder for us to respond to the needs in those countries,’ he said, ‘by making it harder to get assistance in and therefore those outbreaks would become worse, go on longer, and paradoxically, something that we did to try and protect ourselves might actually increase our risk.'”

His argument makes no logical sense. Ever heard of charter planes, Dr. Freiden? Or military transports? Banning flights does not equal ceasing aid. Our national security comes first. Not politics. Not political correctness. And certainly not covering for the incompetence of The One. It’s far past time we place the safety and security of American citizens front and center. I, for one, am not willing to sacrifice one American life at the altar of political correctness.

So enough of the propaganda. Dr. Freiden has lost all credibility. He should resign his post immediately, and cease being a tool in Obama’s “fundamental transformation” of America. Our borders must be secured, and all flights stopped in to, and out of, the Hot Zone. The pathetic explanations for why we aren’t doing either are nonsensical, irresponsible, and beyond transparently political.
