Disney: Politics Is Bad For Business

Disney: Politics Is Bad For Business

Disney Corporate has experienced a Christmas epiphany, all. Apparently, transgender story lines and rainbow-pride Mickey Mouse ears are not profitable.

Who knew? According to this, Disney is pivoting.

The billion-dollar company has recently been taking an active role in moving away from hot-button political issues in a way that seems to be signaling a change in priority. For example, the company confirmed to Fox News Digital on Tuesday that it would be removing a transgender storyline from the upcoming animated Pixar series ‘Win or Lose.'”-Kristine Parks, Fox News

A spokesperson for the giant said “When it comes to animated content for a younger audience, we recognize that many parents would prefer to discuss certain subjects with their children on their own terms and timeline.”

Ya think? Why, yes, many parents would prefer to be the ones discussing these subjects with their children on their terms and their timeline. But, in all honesty, this is not about Disney doing the morally correct thing and stepping the hell off of predatory practices and innocent children. This is indeed about the money:

In 2022, controversy erupted both inside and outside of Disney following former CEO Bob Chapek’s much-criticized response to Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill. In June of that year, Pixar’s Lightyear included a same-gender relationship and kiss, which also sparked controversy. Disney Animation’s Strange World, which featured an openly gay lead character, opened several months later. Both films failed to perform domestically or overseas, earning just $226.4 million and $73.6 million, respectively, at the global box office.”-Pamela McClintock, The Hollywood Reporter

The LGBTQ+++++++WXYZ/woke Disney is not working, folks. It’s not bringing in the cash.

Disney provides a product: entertainment. It shouldn’t be about politics.”-Charles Elson, former director at the Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance at the University of Delaware

But, remember when it was?

The not-so-secret-gay-agenda has flopped, apparently. Seems as though “adding queerness everywhere you could” is not a good business model going forward for Disney. Still, some are not happy.

Correct. Children are not property. They are not subjects of the State and the big-money machines such as Disney. They deserve the language and tools, yes, FROM THEIR PARENTS. They don’t deserve suggestive material and content shoved in their faces on Disney’s timeline or their teachers’ timeline or on social media’s timeline, but here we are.

They did have to fork out some money to Donald Trump, thanks to George Stephanopoulos and his ABC News stunt. But is this truly the sign of the Mouse getting his house back in order or is Disney just letting the proverbial foot off the gas temporarily? I honestly wonder if Bob Iger’s sentiment would be the same if Kamala Harris won the election:

I’ve been preaching this for a long time at the company before I left and since I came back then our number one goal is to entertain. The bottom line is that infusing messaging as a sort of a number one priority in our films and TV shows is not what we’re up to. They need to be entertaining, and where the Disney company can have a positive impact on the world, whether it’s, you know, fostering acceptance and understanding of people of all different types, great.

But generally speaking, we need to be an entertainment-first company.”-Bob Iger

Sure, Bob. And, as far as “politics” go, is a “not-so-secret gay agenda” as benign as “politics” or is it something more sinister? Gay Star Wars is not profitable anymore…or is it?

Disney execs have been peppering sexualized content into their productions for years. Did this content ramp up in the most recent years? I would say so. But, it took how many years to illustrate to these executives (all who make a pretty penny on grooming children) that Disney’s not-so-secret-gay-agenda was not profitable?

$11 Billion in streaming losses. Then, there was also dismal theme park attendance.

For some, the damage has already been done. Disney has peddled perversion for years and is now sheepishly backing away from the grooming they tried to pass off as “entertainment” over the past couple of years. Turning a transgender character into a straight girl is not going to make a lick of a difference. People simply do not forget when their children are at stake.

Disney lost the trust of the majority by its pursuit of Woke. Trust has to be earned and some weasel words will not be enough to patch the damage done by its staff.

Until there are firings, a major change in the corporation and a complete rejection of the DIE silliness, nothing will get better over there.

They have to go back to being family friendly entertainment.
