While Americans were spending their weekend shopping for Christmas, attending parties, and generally busying themselves with the upcoming holidays, the Obama administration quietly released six Guantanamo Bay prison camp jihadis, who have been received by Uruguay. The infamous six — four Syrians, a Tunisian, and a Palestinian — were among the first to arrive in 2002. Just last year one of the Syrians conducted a hunger strike and asked for the US government to stop force feeding him. That doesn’t exactly sound like he’s been reformed of his jihadi ways, does it?
These guys should remain in Gitmo and receive Christmas visits from Krampus rather than receive the gift of freedom — ironically on the 73rd anniversary of the attacks on Pearl Harbor, an event that preceded by 60 years the 9/11 attacks, which these guys undoubtedly supported.
It’s not a complete surprise as to why Obama chose Uruguay, or why Uruguay accepted the prisoners. Uruguayan President Jose Mujica is a former leftist guerrilla who was imprisoned in that country from 1973-1985 — basically a left-wing fellow traveller like President Obama. Mujica also pulled a political stunt in the mold of Obama when he agreed to take the prisoners after his election, according to House Intelligence member Adam Schiff, a Democrat from California. A survey among Uruguayans taken in July showed that half the population was opposed to the arrival of these detainees.
House Intelligence chairman Mike Rogers, a Republican from Michigan, expressed his opposition to this move with concerns that the host country may not be prepared for these men, and that they may return to jihad:
“We knew that was going to happen. That’s why those of us who were trying to do the review of this were so concerned, because they were so interested in getting them out, that they forgot to do the due diligence — I think — that would allow them to at least protect those that were going to go back into the fight, from getting back into the fight.”
While there are estimated to be only 300-400 Muslims within Uruguay, they do have an Islamic Center in Canelones. Mujica told the Associated Press in May that the six prisoners will be free to move about the country. I wonder if that includes radicalization of young Muslims in the mosque?
And then there’s our porous southern border. It’s not just Mexicans, but “OTMs” — Other Than Mexicans — crossing our border into the United States. According to internal documents from the Department of Homeland Security, these shocking facts emerge:
OTMs have increased a whopping 71.9 percent in Fiscal Year 2014, as compared to 2013, according to the DHS documents.
The documents classified 150,000 to 170,000 illegal alien OTMs were “Got-Aways,” in Fiscal Year 2014. In other words, these persons are believed to be in the U.S. living without documentation and successfully bi-passed all security measures along the border.
475,000 people were apprehended in Fiscal Year 2014, of that 253,159 were OTMs.
Federal law enforcement made an average of 441 OTM apprehensions a day.
Monthly, the OTM apprehensions were roughly 6,390.
Combine our open borders, the loosey-goosey attitude of the Marxist Uruguayan president, and the refusal of the Obama administration to enforce immigration laws, and we may have a recipe for disaster with the release of these six Gitmo prisoners.
Remember it took only two radical Muslims and their two pressure cookers to wreak death and havoc at the Boston Marathon.
You misspelled “terrorist.” Jose Mujica is a former member of the “Tupamaro Liberation Movement” terrorist organization, which, over and above the usual brutality normally associated with Khmer Rouge style “insurgencies,” also kidnapped, tortured, and murdered American citizens in Uruguay in the 1970s.

Surprisingly, Wikipedia has not yet dropped these inconvenient facts down the Memory Hole.
