You knew it was coming. Democrats are upset and shocked, SHOCKED, that the Republicans are going to follow the precedent Nancy Pelosi set when it comes to an impeachment inquiry.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) ripped Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s (R-Calif.) announcement that the House will pursue an impeachment inquiry into President Biden, describing the probe as “a kangaroo court, fishing expedition and conspiracy theater rolled into one.”

The comment — which came during a press conference alongside House Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-Mass.) and House Democratic Caucus Chairman Pete Aguilar (D-Calif.) — came hours after McCarthy, in a public statement, directed House committees to open a formal impeachment inquiry into Biden.

The announcement capped weeks of speculation regarding whether the House GOP conference would go down the path of an impeachment inquiry, which Democrats and the White House have vehemently opposed.

“There is not a shred of evidence that President Joe Biden has engaged in wrongdoing; there is not a shred of evidence that President Joe Biden has committed a crime,” Jeffries said Tuesday.

Top Democrats on Tuesday also criticized McCarthy for not holding a vote to launch the impeachment inquiry, as he said he would earlier this month. The Speaker told Breitbart News on Sept. 1 that “if we move forward with an impeachment inquiry, it would occur through a vote on the floor of the People’s House and not through a declaration by one person,” but he launched the probe on his own Tuesday.

“He vowed to hold a vote for an inquiry, but the leaders of the MAGA Republican conference are not here to serve the American people or improve their lives or brighten their future,” Clark said Tuesday. “There is no agenda except chaos and division. They are only interested in advancing MAGA extremism.”

It never fails. Nancy Pelosi opened up an impeachment inquiry into Donald Trump without a vote, and Democrats applauded. Kevin McCarthy changed his mind about holding a vote, and just did what Pelosi did, and the Democrats are having a temper tantrum. The new precedent was only meant to make OUR lives easier! YOU weren’t supposed to do it too! Dear Democrats: you break it, you bought it.

“Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats set the precedent here,” former George W. Bush speechwriter Marc Thiessen said on “The Story.” “Let’s put aside the merits of this impeachment inquiry for a second: What did Democrats think was going to happen?”

Thiessen said Pelosi, D-Calif., and her party overtly and overly abused political and judicial institutions for years as a means of attacking their chief opponent, Trump.

“All these things that they’ve done: Did they think that there was not going to be any blowback? Did they think that the Republicans were not going to turn around and say, ‘OK, you’ve set the precedent, we’re going to use these all these tools … against you?” Thiessen asked.

Yes, that is EXACTLY what they thought.

And the case to impeach Joe Biden, though it would never result in a conviction from the current Senate, is more than damaging. It has the potential to blow up the entire Biden “family business” and snare a whole lot of people in the net that Hunter and Joe have spent time weaving over the course of years. And don’t think that someone won’t eventually throw Joe straight under the bus to save themselves. You really think Hallie Biden – Beau’s widow, Hunter’s ex-lover, and mother of two of Joe’s grandchildren that he has acknowledged since their births, who got money transferred to her that can be traced back to foreign sources – would go to jail to protect “the Big Guy”? There are a lot of weak links in the Biden chain that could easily break.

And yes, Democrats went into the Trump administration looking for an excuse to sic him with impeachment, and we knew that from Day One.

While some Republicans are admittedly looking to play tit-for-tat when it comes to impeachment, we can’t lose sight of the fact that Joe Biden has abused his power as president (student loan debt forgiveness and eviction moratoriums, anyone? The Supreme Court had to slap him down both times) and if Donald Trump had done anything that unilateral to advance a conservative goal, Democrats would have had a stroke. The money that Hunter spent years collecting from foreign actors for his benefit, and the family’s benefit (as can be proven by the bank transfers), while using Joe as both a prize (dinner at Cafe Milano with Hunter’s business associates) and as a cudgel (“I am sitting here with my father“). Are we truly to believe that Joe NEVER benefited from Hunter’s multiple business deals? Hunter HIMSELF told his daughter that he was giving “Pop” HALF of his salary!

The White House story, which has evolved from “Hunter never made money in China” to “Joe never talked about business with Hunter” to “Joe was never in business with Hunter,” has now evolved to “Joe just loves Hunter so much that even if Hunter did something illegal, Joe had no idea.”

The media is completely selling out on the “loving father who just couldn’t say no to his drug-addled boy” narrative that the White House is telling them to push, but that just isn’t going to fly, as Jonathan Turley points out.

The NY Times made another valiant effort to extricate Joe Biden from the influence peddling of his son. The Times reported that Biden “has at times been too deferential to his younger son.” That is hardly exonerating…

…If President Biden “deferred” to his son in selling influence and access, it is neither reassuring nor exculpatory. Rather it is the latest effort of scandal implosion.

…Now, dispensing with the “Hunter was a tragic addict” defense, the Times is going with “Joe was a tragic loving Dad.” The paper reported that “Mr. Biden’s devotion to his son means that he has long followed Hunter’s lead.”…

…When that “lead” takes you to a multimillion dollar influence peddling scheme, it is not a parental but public problem. This was not some elder abuse of a conniving son at a nursing home but a massive corruption scheme involving corrupt figures from China to Ukraine.

…The other problem with the NY Times’s good-father-bad-son narrative is that the Bidens have been known for influence peddling for decades. Hunter was virtually weaned on it. Was there also good-brother-bad-brother problem of trust in prior years?

As we saw with the entire Philip Bump debacle (where he literally attempted to “see no evil, say no evil, hear no evil” about Joe Biden while being interviewed for a podcast), the media have completely sold out to the Democrats. The White House might be asking the media to follow their talking points and sending out a full memo for them, but they were ALREADY DOING THAT. There is zero interest in following the Biden money among the mainstream media. After all, Biden is a Democrat!

Which also means, the fact that the GOP is now following the same impeachment inquiry playbook that Nancy Pelosi used is going to be ignored by the mainstream media as well.

Too bad for Democrats. The saying is that “an elephant never forgets.” The Republicans really should be making more of that saying, and shoving every single corrupt thing that Joe Biden has ever done back in their faces. Welcome to the impeachment inquiry, everyone.
