Racism is necessary! When a decision by the Supreme Court has the Democrats shorts tied in very tight knots, you just KNOW that the correct decision was made. In this case the Democrats are crying foul over today’s Affirmative Action decision.
By their caterwauling, it is highly evident that they WANT racism to exist! Especially when affirmative action quotas give preferential treatment, whether the applicant is qualified or not, specifically to Blacks or Hispanics
As ROS noted here, the decision tells Harvard and UNC (while also serving notice to colleges across the land) that the individual as a WHOLE needs to be looked at rather than view skin color before all else. Or, as Chief Justice Roberts put it:
“The race-based admissions systems that respondents employ also fail to comply with the twin commands of the Equal Protection Clause that race may never be used as a “negative” and that it may not operate as a stereotype” and a “student must be treated based on his or her experiences as an individual—not on the basis of race.”
Democrats are in a complete and utter tizzy.
The case was about not only whites, but Asians who were rejected because they were not…black. Yet the Democrats want and are demanding that the status quo remain in place. And, many of the headlines are stating that the court has ruled that colleges and universities can no longer consider race when reviewing college applications. Which is a lie, as the decision itself makes clear.
Schools, he indicated, can consider “an applicant’s discussion of how race affected his or her life, be it through discrimination, inspiration, or otherwise.” But programs like the ones used by Harvard and UNC, he complained, have “concluded, wrongly, that the touchstone of an individual’s identity is not challenges bested, skills built, or lessons learned but the color of their skin. Our constitutional history does not tolerate that choice.”
However, Harvard explicitly considered 4 criteria for the final decision-making when voting to approve or disapprove an applicant. One of those four criteria was race. And the case ended up at SCOTUS because most of the time those receiving preferential treatment were either Black or Hispanic.
During a final winnowing process, four factors are considered: “legacy status, recruited athlete status, financial aid eligibility, and race,” with the last factor “‘a determinative tip for’” a significant percentage ‘of all admitted African American and Hispanic applicants.’”
But again, it’s telling that the Democrats are throwing tantrums right now. Al Sharpton for example:
“This is tantamount to sticking a dagger in our back,” Sharpton said during an appearance on MSNBC Thursday. “Because what they have said now is that it is unconstitutional to even consider race, and given the racial history of the country, let’s not act like Blacks are behind because there is something in our genes … It was against the law for us to even read and write until 160 years ago.”
First, whether blacks were allowed to read or write 160 years ago has ZERO bearing on today. Secondly, it’s obvious he wants affirmative action with preferential treatment for blacks to continue whether they are qualified or not. So negative racism in favor of blacks is ok!
Michelle Obama just had to weigh in:
Former first lady Michelle Obama spoke out against the Supreme Court ruling in a social post Thursday.
She recalled wondering whether people thought she was admitted to Princeton University only because of affirmative action, as one of the few Black students attending the school. “It was a shadow that students like me couldn’t shake, whether those doubts came from the outside or inside our own minds,” she wrote on Instagram. “But the fact is this: I belonged.”
But you see, this decision isn’t FAIR! And it is the very opposite of equal opportunity!
Breaking News: The Supreme Court rejected affirmative action at Harvard and UNC. Joe Biden was trotted out to make a statement.
“Discrimination still exists in America,” President Biden said Thursday in remarks at the White House in which he expressed strong disagreement with the Supreme Court’s overturning of affirmative action in college admissions.
He repeated it twice for emphasis: “Discrimination still exists in America. Discrimination still exists in America.”
Even worse is his answer to a question from the media:
CNN's Arlette Saenz: "President Biden, the Congressional Black Caucus said the Supreme Court has thrown into question its own legitimacy. Is this a rogue court?

President Biden: "This is not a normal court." pic.twitter.com/7BNJagP1P1
For Democrats, normal was supposed to be maintaining the status quo and using race as a key aspect of the decision-making process for college applicants. Which is discriminatory and racist. Already colleges are warning that applications from Blacks and Hispanics will drop. Or will they? If the colleges and universities do WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO DO, they will look at the applications and applicant to determine they meet the QUALIFICATIONS of the university or college.
Two other things that must be looked at here. One is Justice Ketanji Brown’s dissent

The second is Justice Clarence Thomas response to her dissent. Here it is in part:
Accordingly, JUSTICE JACKSON’s race-infused world view falls flat at each step. Individuals are the sum of their unique experiences, challenges, and accomplishments. What matters is not the barriers they face, but how they choose to confront them. And their race is not to blame for everything—good or bad—that happens in their lives. A contrary, myopic world view based on individuals’ skin color to the total exclusion of their personal choices is nothing short of racial determinism.
And of course, the cries for expanding the court are going to get louder and more shrill as each decision goes against the Democrats favored narratives.
One thing is clear. The Democrats aren’t concerned with figuring out if applicants to a college, university, or job are truly qualified. Nope, their concern is only about ticking the progressive boxes of race and woke ideologies.
I’ll leave you with this from Justice Thomas:

As has been discussed before affirmative action ‘education’ programs were a failure for many participants back in the late 1970s when I was studying for my MSc. They were so superficial that the diplomas participants received was worthless. There was litigation back then by participants who realised they had been cheated by the organisations charged with providing a meaningful and useful education. So many affirmative action programs are simply PR operations and provide nothing of substance to participants. They also seem to reinforce a sense of victimhood.
With this ruling Michele Obama wouldn’t have had to worry whether she “belonged” since the race quota wouldn’t have been in effect. Thus her argument is flawed or she’s in favor of the ruling.
To Al and the other grifters, I have a solution:
Start up your own version of a blacks only college. Prove your argument on its merits. Talk to Hillsdale if you need pointers.
