It is a thing of beauty when Democratic Socialists cannot even begin to explain the utter trash that slows out of their mouths. This most recent interview with the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) co-chair, Megan Romer, is quite delicious over Sunday morning brunch bubbles.

Recently, Romer joined The New Yorker editor, David Remnick on The New Yorker Radio Hour. Now, The New Yorker is not exactly right-leaning but, I must admit, I got quite a few chuckles out of David Remnick’s expressions upon hearing the utter nonsense that flowed freely from Romer’s mouth. Especially when she uttered “taxing the hell out of the rich”.

To clarify, billionaires are worse than millionaires. And we should “tax the hell out of them”. Remnick begs the question, “what does taxing the hell out of mean?” The convo went something like this:

Uhhhh, yeah, you know, again, I don’t have like a solid [answer], but—’ Romer chuckled and sputtered.

‘But shouldn’t you?’ Remnick asked.

‘Um, that’s a good question,’ she said.

Remnick continued, “If you’re the co-chair of the DSA, shouldn’t you be more specific than ‘taxing the hell’ out of something?”

‘So again, it’s democracy, right?’ Romer said. ‘And we have to look at what we have to spend and what we need. We don’t want to depend on the existence of millionaires because that means people are still getting exploited.’

She added, ‘So yeah, we need to look at what we need to pay for in the interim, what sort of tax base we need for that to happen, and build from there.'”-Sean James, Mediaite

So, Romer, in her socialist economics, thinks it’s a good idea to tax consumers on what they spend versus taxing them on what they need? Who determines that, anyway? Romer may need a few boxes of Twinkies and a few cases of Monster a week while some of us opt for fresh produce. But, in this socialist’s mind, because we may have a few million saved up and qualify as “millionaires” after years upon years of hard work, we should be taxed at a higher rate?

Comrade Romer, who grew up in central New York is, by “profession” a political organizer, who worked in the public arts world as a folk music promoter.

Sounds like her demands are for us working schmucks to pay higher taxes so she can sit around, eat donuts, and listen to folk music. Great, solid plan, DSA.

Megan Romer has also taken hard stances on the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement. She is pro-Hamas, pro-open borders, wants to abolish ICE, abolish prisons. You get the drift. More on Megan Romer:

Jon Stewart. A net worth of $120 million. An annual salary of $25 million during his “Daily Show” peak. One of the highest-paid late-night hosts of all time. Does Megs want to tax the hell out of him? What about Bernie Sanders? Bernie’s a millionaire, too.

The bain of our existence, she says, is America. Megan, the border is open and free for you to exit at any time of your choosing. The problem with these “socialists” is that they are used to the perks of living in a first-world nation. They are more than happy to freeload off the backs of other hard-working Americans and run off at the mouth cutesy bumper-sticker slogans that mean absolutely nothing. They don the glasses to look “intellectual” and either say nothing on national television or everything to indicate their radicalized views. They get their politics from talking heads on TV and somehow, think this makes them credible authorities on economic policy. It’s mind-boggling but thoroughly enjoyable when one of them trips up to this level, climbs up the tree and shows off their utter incompetence.

As for “taxing the hell outta millionairs/billionaires”, Megan may have to endure her oppressive life in “the bain of existence”, America for a little while longer. I, for one, would love for her to depart for the DPRK one, fine day. She could enjoy the melodic sounds of Dear Leader folk songs over in Pyongyang. Don’t let the hammer and sickle hurt you too badly on the way out the door, Ms. Romer.
