Dear Media; Your Glee Over The Multiple Trump Investigations Is Appalling

Multiple media outlets in the last 24-48 hours have published articles and commentary about the multiple on-going investigations into any and all members of the Trump Administration. The media shouts the information about  Trump investigations from the rooftops as if it is something to be applauded. Their hidden and not so hidden glee is appalling.

Investigations now entangle Donald Trump’s White House, campaign, transition, inauguration, charity and business. For Trump, the political, the personal and the deeply personal are all under examination.

Less than two years into Trump’s presidency, his business associates, political advisers and family members are being probed, along with the practices of his late father. On Saturday, Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke became the fourth Cabinet member to leave under an ethical cloud, having sparked 17 investigations into his actions on the job, by one watchdog’s count.

At last count, at least 60% of top aides and 10 Cabinet secretaries have quit due to the insane scrutiny they’ve been subjected to. And the media cheers.

How many of those aides and Cabinet members are now dealing with exorbitant legal fees because they are under investigation solely because they accepted a job in the Trump Administration? I’m pretty sure the number is higher than we know.

S.E. Cupp chimed in.

Let me just say, for a “conservative” I’ve been quite disappointed in her stance for the last year or so. She’s been quite anti-Trump from the get-go. However, if you look at her history of commentary, she was essentially MEH on the rest of the field of candidates. But once it was Trump? Gloves off.

As for her references to the Mueller probe closing in…let’s look at a couple of items regarding Mueller probe.

Yes, where is the original 302? And why isn’t the media reporting that?

In one of the many GOTCHA! investigations that the media gleefully continues to report on, Flynn is heading to jail. Is Flynn a nice guy? Did he skirt the law? That’s up for debate for sure. But if the actual investigation isn’t handled appropriately, then whether Flynn is guilty or innocent ends up being moot whether we like it or not.

There are many peculiarities about this. Pressing at the moment, for example, is the special counsel’s release yesterday of the FBI report (the “302” form) pertaining to Flynn’s interview. Media reports had said that even though Flynn was interviewed on January 24, 2017, the 302 documenting the interview was not completed until August 22, 2017, seven months later. Clearly, this raises the possibility that the interview report was drafted not when the agents formed their initial impressions, but months later when the special counsel was squeezing Flynn and there was a motive to make the interview appear more deceptive than it seemed at the time.

As Andrew McCarthy points out, the evidence shows a very disturbing timeline that involves either evidence disappearing, time to get stories straight, or both.

Yet the media and Democrats want us to believe that anyone and everyone tied to Trump is corrupt. Is that really the case?

Is Flynn guilty? Facts help and disappearing 302’s don’t.

It certainly doesn’t help the Mueller investigation’s credibility when someone on the team helpfully wiped Peter Strzok and Lisa Page’s government phones clean and essentially stated there was’ nothing to see so I made the decision for you.’ Yes, sure, if there wasn’t anything to be concerned about, then why were the phones wiped? Is the media covering that? Nope.

I can’t imagine what any who are working for the Trump administration are dealing with. Particularly since the media is all over this and wants to just dig until there is nothing left.

I’m SO laughing at the fact that this was the ‘failing of the press’ Brian. Y’all have been ALL over Trump since the moment it became clear that he was the front-runner. The minute it was he won? You dropped the knives and took up the swords of bias and misinformation.

What I want to know is this: Are there really REALLY that many corrupt people suddenly popping out of the woodwork because Trump? Was there never every any corrupt people operating during any previous Administration? *Cough *Cough …HILLARY?

The media demands we trust that THEY are the ones who have the goods on Trump. They demand that WE trust that they and only they know the truth.

The media happily shouts the news that multiple Trump investigations will be the sole focus of year 3, and what is the result of that glee? A significant number of Americans who think the media is full of crap.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like what is happening with and because of the investigations to this country. But what I dislike equally intensely is the media’s appalling glee about it.

What’s that old saying about judging a person by his enemies? 🙂

“How many of those aides and Cabinet members are now dealing with exorbitant legal fees because they are under investigation solely because they accepted a job in the Trump Administration?” And that my friends is the most under reported or ignored motive behind so many, if not most, of the investigations. Even when the majority of those investigations prove to be baseless “dry holes,”or even counter-productive to the apparent goal [think Kavanaugh] it’s “still mission accomplished” for the democrat wrecking ball. It is what is commonly referred to as the “chilling effect.” How many good men and donors will now simply take a pass on supporting the next conservative candidate or becoming that candidate because they just don’t want the exposure. I would guess way more than we will ever know. Are democrat donors and supporters dragged through the same financially ruinous hell? Ha! I can still make myself laugh.

“Does the public understand just how much trouble the President is in? If not, that’s a failing of the press,”

    Gosh, we had no idea!

Anyone who likes to see criminals go to jail is beginning to feel glee now. Why should the press show any restraint in expressing how happy it makes them that democracy actually works? The President is currently under 17 separate investigations. I expect that number to explode in January. Justice will prevail.

Except that half the country knows that a) there’s no evidence except coerced confessions and b) that democracy hasn’t worked for them. You will not like where that leads.

Only if it’s the sort of justice preceded by an adjective.

As to seeing criminals go to jail, I would certainly feel some measure of satisfaction in that. But not typically glee (unless justice has been long denied). But, I doubt the vast majority of criminals I’ve seen in the US national gov’t will ever see the inside of a prison cell. Nobody convicts Democrats and gives them prison time.

Good morning troll.. come back when you’re happy to see hillary, obama, holder, comey, strozk, et al go to jail for their crimes… otherwise, go back to sipping your soy lattes, and fantasizing about your socialist “paradise”

The media will be done when a critical mass start differentiating between a lying, only accidentally truth-telling fishwrap and a newspaper. How many media channels do we have on the radio and on TV? How many propaganda channels do we have? If there’s no actual channel for local news, just propaganda channels, maybe it’s time to make a news channel without legacy costs and knock the propaganda guys out of the business?

Do the work, reap the rewards.

One of the problems in this whole thing is electing a businessman from NYC. While Trump is nominally ethical, if you do big business in NYC, you’re going to associate with all sorts of crooks, grifters, and ne’er-do-wells. You’re going to be a system “player”, working loopholes and riding the edge of regulations, probably aided by paying some extra “licensing fees” to the appropriate agencies/officials. You pay the baksheesh not because you think it’s appropriate but because that’s how the system works.

This means you are likely to bring with you people who are not exactly sparkling clean. And, with those sorts of people, you can always find something they did worth prosecuting. AND, most of them are used to a system where a plea to something minor means you’re right back out on the street, doing your thing, soonest.

How this is different from the Democrat political machines? Hardly anyone ever seems to prosecute political chicanery and fraud.

And, given that short (for me) rant, I give you Econ 101:
