Dear Celebs: Shut up and Sing … Wait! On 2nd Thought

Just.Shut.UP. Being famous because you warbled the latest Top 100 pop song or were born into a famous family or were the 3rd banana on fifty-year-old tv show — It doesn’t make you an authority on every Crisis Du Jour with hordes of benighted Little People dying to hear your take.

We get it. Humility and gratitude in the cultural and political Upper Class are harder to find than Liz Cheney’s integrity. This leads to the maddening effect that each Leftwing shiny object that catches attention suddenly calls for our media to immediately make room for a parade of empty Gucci suits and Christian Louboutin pumps.

And reasoned discourse? A masterful marshalling of facts, soberly presented with a plea for reasoned deliberation? Oh, hell, no. Let the spittle fly and garment rending begin!

Billie Joe Armstrong of the late 80s band, Green Day (they’re still touring?? who knew?) had an aneurism over Dobbs and has announced he is renouncing his citizenship.

“F— America, I’m f—ing renouncing my citizenship,” the “American Idiot” singer told the (London) crowd. “I’m f—ing coming here.”

“There’s just too much f—ing stupid in the world to go back to that miserable f—ing excuse for a country,” Armstrong added. “Oh, I’m not kidding.

“I’m not kidding!” says the addled, sexually confused punker.

Don’t threaten us with a good time, Billie. Shut up and go.

Samuel L. Jackson trots out the usual racist slurs against Justice Thomas. As if the spokeshole for a credit card company has the intellectual heft to darn Thomas’ socks. Maybe someone can read Thomas’ concurring opinion to Jackson and have the patience to explain all the Big Words of two or more syllables.

There was the usual unhinged screeching from the faded actress list looking to claw a few moments of spotlight. Bette Midler did her toxic channeling of Emily Litella, having no clue on what Justice Alito wrote, Amy Schumer engaged in tired mendacities and even Lynda Carter did a turn of Wonderless Woman tweeting before even knowing that Dobbs didn’t ban abortion but just returned it to the states. But but but she cried, women “shouldn’t have to travel for abortion care.” :::sigh:::

Hollywood contracts must have a clause that performers must have the moral centers of their brains removed before signing.

Of course, celeb public meltdowns have a certain comedic value:

Boom.

Unfortunately, these people take their name-recognition rankings as magical certification of Importance. They may well not shut up. But we can turn them off and turn them out.

I have to give the guy from Green Day some credit: He didn’t say he was going to Canada. So unlike his music, I give him points for originality.

    • Scott says:

I might, IF he followed through.. since lefties always screech that they’re leaving, but never do, if this clown does, he’ll be there first.. and good riddance to bad rubbish!

    • NTSOG says:

He’s not going to Canada? I thought that’s where all the US leftist trash hides. Well I hope he doesn’t come Down Under – we have just got a new Left wing ‘progressive’ government which is tainted with Green ‘Save the World’ nutters and don’t need any foreign socialist rubbish. We have enough of our own all slavishly copying the playbooks of both Trudeau and US progressives.

  • GWB says:

Turn them out? Or tune them out?
Normally I would say the second, but what you typed works in some ways….

    • Darleen Click says:

I used “turn” deliberately because I believe merely not listening to them has gotten us to this point. This isn’t their private beliefs; they are publicly being obnoxious. Let’s not spend one more dime on them.

  • Wfjag says:

You mean there’s another pop musician named “Billy Joel”?

Oh. Billie Joe. Be’n frm ta South (obligatory hand held over heart), I’ah wint ta sckoool wid ah gurl nam’a Billie Jo. She got rite populr when she turt 13. Kinda talk’s lak dat boy, to. Oneder if’n theys kin?

  • KyPerson says:

I wonder if Billie Joe Armstrong knows that the abortion restrictions in the UK are more restrictive than in California? In the UK it’s 24 weeks. In California it’s up to the minute of birth if not after.

  • SteveP says:

As annoying as their stupidity and whining can be sometimes, I don’t want them to shut up. I want them to proclaim their clueless idiocy loud and proud.
The best way to expose a fool is to let him speak.
