Chest Binders: Every School Counselor Has One

Imagine having a trans girl to boy who wants a chest binder. You love your child so much that you want them to think through this decision. Now, imagine a school counselor stepping in and giving your child a chest binder without your knowledge.

This is what happened to Amber Lavigne, of Damariscotta, Maine when she found her daughter’s chest binder. Her daughter said that the device was given to her by “a friend”.

The undergarment, used to flatten a female’s breasts to make her appear more like a male, looked like a tank top with a built-in bra, Lavigne said. And it smelled. Bad. In her efforts to hide it from her family, Lavigne’s daughter hadn’t put the binder in the laundry for weeks.”-Ryan Mills, National Review

It wasn’t until later that evening that Lavigne’s daughter shared that she did not get the chest binder from her friend at all; that she actually received the binder from her school.

I know what you’re thinking….wait, WHAT?! Take a look:

I seriously want to wipe the smug off of their faces.

Of course Amber Lavigne was livid to the point of tears as any parent should be. Great Salt Bay Community School assigned Lavigne’s daughter a social worker named Samuel Roy. This person is responsible for giving a 13 year-old girl a chest binder without parental consent.

Roy is a 26 year-old “Kid” himself. The pierced-faced, ear-stretched, man-bun wearing (read: smug liberal) graduated with his Masters in social work this year. He served as a public relations representative for Wilde Stein: Queer and Straight Alliance at The University of Maine. Wilde Stein is, according to their page, “a safe space that encourages our differences, our sexuality, and our strive for progress. Together, we can make a difference for our community.”

Making a difference in the community. By giving 13 year-olds secret chest binders. We’re not teaching them to be kind to their fellow students on Snap-Chat. We’re not teaching them basic social skills that will benefit them in the working world like, talking to adults and using a telephone. No, we’re giving them chest binders and trying to be their cool friends who “get them“.

This is the very definition of child predatory sexual grooming. Predators work to gain a victims’ trust by driving a wedge between them and their parents. Laws, policies, and parental trust were broken. No other parent should have to go through the trauma and distress this has caused my family.”-Amber Lavigne

After Lavigne’s tearful plea was met with stone-cold faces at the board meeting and obvious ambivalence. The school officials appeared to support the social worker and did not answer Lavigne’s questions or turn over any records, citing the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, The National Review said. Lavigne also noted that the school staff was referring to her daughter by a different name and different pronouns without her consent or knowledge. What did the chairman of the school board have to say?

I’m going to ask if you stick to issues at hand and not do speculation around health and well-being at this board meeting. It’s not germane to education.”-School Board Chairman Samuel Belknap

The issues at hand are plentiful, Mr. Belknap.

We have a kid here who is perhaps having issues with identity, as most teenage kids do from time-to-time. We have a “counselor”, a “social worker”, who has given a device called a chest binder to a minor child without parental consent. Chest binders, if used improperly, can fracture ribs, warp spines and cause skin infections-especially when you don’t wash ’em for weeks on end because you don’t want your mom finding ’em! We have marketing companies of these chest binders in schools, talking about their products and selling them online to teenage girls without parental consent. You can also find them on Amazon, by the way, and Target? They’re going all-out. The other issues? Binding one’s chest is in no way, shape or form healthy. Nor, does it contribute to well-being. Nor are any of these programs germane to education, you pretentious jackass.

Yet, School-district and board leaders in Great Salt Bay have mostly been tight-lipped about Lavigne’s case. As tight as a chest binder, in fact. Samuel Roy has gone off the grid. They are claiming “certain parties are spreading a grossly inaccurate and one-sided story.”

Those promoting this false narrative are apparently disturbed by our school’s ongoing and steadfast commitment to providing all students with safe and equal access to educational opportunities without discrimination because of, among other things, sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity, as the Maine Human Rights Act requires.”-Great Salt Bay School District

What, exactly, is false about this narrative? A school district employee, a public servant, making his salary through taxpayer dollars. gave a minor a chest binder that could cause health risks if not used correctly without parental consent. Condoms are not uncommon in schools these days. But, hey, in certain states, marijuana is legal, too. Are school counselors cool with giving kids a joint? Or how about some good, old-fashioned tobacco? Why not offer shots of whiskey while we’re at it, too? If counselors want to be confidantes and “friends”, why the hell not? Next, Samuel Roy will be handing out tampons to the 13 year-old boy who “identifies” as a girl . Good luck with that one.

We’ve gone from Judy Blume’s, “Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret”, to banning the book because God is in the title. We must, we must, we must decrease our bust.

As a parent, I would probably be in jail. In reality, Samuel Roy should be. Here is yet another cautionary tale of the public school system. If you’re noticing the increase of presence, acknowledgement of and emphasis on school counselors and social workers, take heed. This is by their great design. Your kids are no longer your own. They want it this way.

    1. Pull kid from this indoctrination center and homeschool
    2. Hire a lawyer and sue the school district for as much as possible, as well as at a minimum, the chairman personally
    3. Get law enforcement involved for violating laws as mentioned in her initial statement.

Not necessarily in that order… If we don’t do something soon, this great experiment truly is at an end..

The freak responsible for grooming that kid should be arrested and the school board members should be fired so hard that they will never work anything other than fast food.

Agreed. I’d add that the groomer should be happy that he’s facing the justice system, instead of the righteous justice of a protective father..

Even if a parent thinks they cannot teach they can do a million times better than this every day! Don’t think that you cannot home school, your child will be able to learn what it needs to know, decades of children learned in one room school houses, dug-outs on the prairie, and under the canvas of a tent. Give up a little “luxury” in your life for your own darling child’s well-being! You might learn some new things also!
