California did all of us a favor banning travel for state workers to deep red states. Good! Was it over COVID? Shocking—not shocking—it was over liberal policies red states do not give a rip about.

California’s Attorney General, Bob Banta, seems to think his grand gesture will have some wonderful cosmic outcome in the world of leftie virtue-signaling and meaningless government policies.

“California added five more states, including Florida, to the list of places where state-funded travel is banned because of laws that discriminate against members of the LGBTQ community…Democratic Attorney General Rob Bonta added Florida, Arkansas, Montana, North Dakota and West Virginia to the list that now has 17 states where state employee travel is forbidden except under limited circumstances.”

Listen closely, you can hear all seventeen states cheering, “Good, stay in your liberal utopia and enjoy!”

Florida has been on California’s no-fly list for a while. Florida Governor DeSantis does not give a rip about liberals in blue states and their criticism of Florida. Florida’s Polk County Sheriff, Grady Judd, spelled out clearly what Florida thinks of those who visit and bring their liberal policies with them. In this case, Antifa and BLMers flown in on George Soros’s dime and paid to riot.

For those not just flying to Florida but relocating from New York, Sheriff Judd has advice for new Floridians. I would venture to add the same advice would apply for anyone relocating from California to Florida. It is pretty simple advice—

“Don’t vote the stupid way you did up north or you’ll get what they got.”

Another state that has long been on California’s no-fly list, Texas, had similar thoughts.

Remember those high taxes, burdensome regulations, & socialistic agenda advanced in CA?

California started doing red states a favor five years ago by banning travel to North Carolina over their new bathroom law; only boys in the boys bathroom and girls in the girls bathroom. You would have thought the sky was falling. Nope, California has nothing else to worry about in its train-wreck of a state than dictate who is going to the potty where, way over in North Carolina. California’s travel ban list has slowly grown with Monday’s newly minted members, who don’t care what California is up to and really don’t want California’s policies in their states.

A few years back, Texas joined Oklahoma in a lawsuit against California’s efforts to export their liberal nonsense on other states. Not sure why Oklahoma and Texas wasted their breath on such an effort except to make a point that California needs to stop it. Just stop it. According to Oklahoma Governor, Kevin Stitt, at the time of the lawsuit,

“California and its elected officials over the past few years have banned travel to the State of Oklahoma in an effort to politically threaten and intimidate Oklahomans for their personal values…Enough is enough.”

As that legal skirmish works its way through courts, Louisville, KY projected to lose $2 million because of California’s travel ban. Don’t give California any credit yet; those projections were made pre-COVID for canceled conventions in 2018 and 2021.

Kentucky gets the honor of saying “neener neener” to California and their ridiculous travel ban trying to cause negative economic consequences on red states. Kentucky wins that argument by a landslide.

“In May, Kentucky saw eight new expansion and new-location projects announced, totaling $117.6 million in planned investment and promising to create nearly 760 new full-time jobs in the coming years. Those figures compare well to the pre-pandemic months of January – with $50 million and 342 announced jobs – and February — with $337 million in planned investment and 691 new jobs.”

Since California is trying so hard to make social change by banning travel, they might want to think about tourism in their own state reeling from the cluster of fun COVID brought in 2020.

“The coronavirus halted a record 10 years of growth for California’s tourism economy in 2020, erasing $86 billion in visitor spending and 518,000 travel and hospitality jobs throughout the state. More than one-third of the jobs lost in California in 2020 were in the travel and hospitality sector…The sharp decline in California’s tourism spending—representing a 60% fall from pre-pandemic levels—resulted in an economic fallout 10 times worse than the drop in travel spending that followed the 9/11 terrorist attacks.”

California continues to do the rest of America a favor by keeping their liberal ideas out of other states. They’re own draconian lockdowns have shafted their own tourism industry quite nicely. Other states’ tourism dollars should be the least of its worries. It is clear red states don’t want liberal Californians and their liberal policies; and are thriving quite well without them. Thank you California, for doing the rest of the nation a favor by banning travel.
