Zohran Mamdani is making not only his socialist agenda known, but also flexing his wimpy muscles by putting DEI hires in key positions. Most recently, Mamdani made the announcement for his pick for FDNY Fire Chief.

[The FDNY] deserves a leader who cares about their work, because she did it herself. She is the kind of leader I’m so proud to have in my administration.”-Zohran Mamdani

Who is this leader the FDNY deserves? The winner is, former EMS worker, Lilian Bonsignore. Why does New York City deserve Bonsignore? Well, she will become the first openly gay fire chief of FDNY, of course. And, she’s coming out of retirement to fill the role.

In truth, Mamdani made a di*k move. Outgoing Mayor, Eric Adams, named longtime FDNY member Mark Guerra for the position. Mamdani, basking in his newfound power, named Bonsignore. While Bonsignore was an EMS chief, she, herself, has never worked as a firefighter.

Upon her promotion to EMS Chief, pre-COVID, Bonsignore told The NY Daily News this:

It’s kind of odd that the thing I get celebrated for the most — people are always like, ‘Wow, you’re a woman and you’re gay’ — are the two things I put the least work into.”-Lilian Bonsignore

It’s her light and gayness, we guess. These two qualities alone, will carry New York City and put out all the fires.

Lillian’s light is one that can’t be dimmed by anything else that takes place.”-Zohran Mamdani

And peace. And love. Just what FDNY needs, right? Who needs an experienced firefighter at the helm?

Elon Musk and Mamdani went back and forth on X over the Mamdani’s selection. When Musk stated “people will die”. Mamdani clapped back:

Experience does matter, which is why I appointed the person who spent more than 30 years at EMS. You know, the workforce that addresses at least 70% of all calls coming into FDNY?”-Zohran Mamdani

Mamdani’s seeming justification for this lies in the “evolving role of the firefighter“:

The FDNY, and fire departments nationwide, are no longer solely about extinguishing flames. Data from the National Fire Protection Association reveals that over 50% of firefighter responses are now medical emergencies. This statistic is the bedrock of the argument supporting Bonsignore’s appointment. Her decades of experience in EMS – triaging, advanced life support, disaster response – are arguably more relevant to the daily work of most FDNY personnel than years spent climbing ladders.”-Memesita

Yes, but you still have to hook a hose up to a hydrant and ensure the hydrant does not run dry. Hopefully, Mamdani and Bonsignore will take these lessons from their friends in California. Otherwise, New York is hosed. No pun intended.

And, yes, EMS workers and firefighters work together. EMS workers have some knowledge of how fire and rescue work and vice-versa. They are, however, two VERY DIFFERENT jobs. But Lilian? Well, Lilian is up to this task. She has the (LGBTQ+) light, after all. They all have magic dust, apparently.

Bonsignore replaces Robert Tucker, who turned in his resignation last month after Zohran was elected. Tucker, who is Jewish, refused to serve under Mamdani and, who can blame him?

My goal is to ensure that every member of [the FDNY] has the resources and environment they need to perform their role safely and effectively.”-Lilian Bonsignore

Sounds like more DEI to me.

I can’t wait to hear about the 300-pound transgender in a dress who passed out and needed EMS when attempting to haul a 129-pound fire hose and all the other equipment that comes with the suit up ten flights of stairs.

If only we could be flies on the wall at NYC firehouses. If. Only. This is not going to end well. But, it will for sure, provide some entertainment in the meantime. Let’s just hope and pray people don’t die.

We have a police commissioner in New York who has never been a cop. Now, we have a fire commissioner in New York who has never been a firefighter? Zohran? Lilian? Your city is burning. Time to call in the social workers. Surely, they’ll extinguish the dumpster fire of flames and talk some sense into all of those fires.
