Buh-bye, Rosie!

Buh-bye, Rosie!

Buh-bye, Rosie!

Poor Ireland. Everyone there thought “The Troubles” were over. Instead, they’ve now got a new professional whiner who finally gave up trying to change the US into whatever her picture of Nirvana might be. Yep, you guessed it. Rosie “The Whiner” O’Donnell has left the States for Ireland. I guess she finally realized no one here really cares about her rantings and ravings against Trump. Maybe she even realized she is no longer relevant in the grand scheme of things–not that she ever was. Oh, but she has her reasons fpr the move and the so-called Ladies of the View and their friends in the liberal media are all but canonizing Rosie for her oh-so-brave move.

Give me a break.

I doubt there’s anyone who doesn’t know there’s been an ongoing feud between Rosie and President Trump that goes back for years. She hates him. He loves poking at her. It’s gotten nasty on both sides more than once. But, like so many liberal “celebrities” (and I use the term celebrity loosely), Rosie’s threatened more than once to leave the country if Trump became president, going back to his first campaign. She’s called him “Adolph” Trump. She about lost her mind when he was named Man (or to be politically correct, Person) of the Year by Time Magazine. After her announcement that she had relocated to Ireland with the youngest of her five children, she went so far to call Trump a “Russian asset – traitor – spy.” She went on to say how the world is cheering for the American people to stand up and resist Trump and his attempt to destroy the US. She urged Americans to resist the current Administration.

And she ran. Heaven forbid she should put actions where her mouth is.

But that’s not to say she doesn’t have her supporters. The women of the View are applauding the former panelist. She was only looking out for her youngest child. Trump evil. Of everyone on the panel, only one, Alyssa Farah Griffin, pointed out a truth most liberals seem to conveniently overlook: Europe isn’t exactly as progressive as they want to believe. She went on to say:

We remain one of the most ethnically diverse nations on Earth. We’re the one where you’re most likely to come in from one socio-economic class and in your lifetime be in a completely different one,” she said “This table doesn’t exist in a lot of Europe. On LGBTQ rights issues, we are about as advanced as most of Europe.”

Unable to deny the truth of Griffin’s statement, good ole Sunny Hostin had to make sure everyone understood that the US isn’t “working for everyone. . . and most of us are stuck here.” Well, duh. We don’t have the money of these celebrities who are so butt-hurt that we didn’t vote the way they wanted. So we have to stay here and work for change–which is exactly what happened with the last election. What did Rosie do? She ran away.

But that hasn’t stopped her from continuing to tell Americans what we should do. While she’s enjoying her new life on the Emerald Isle, she’s “asking” her fans:

to stand up, to use their voice, to protest, to demand that we follow the constitution in our country, and not a king, not a man and we don’t have cruelty as part of our governing style.”

And she’s continuing to try to frame the narrative as she’s made this move because she no longer feels safe here. She doesn’t like what the country is becoming. She wants her youngest child to grow up in a safe and loving atmosphere. Blah. Blah. Blah.

I’d respect her more if she was honest about it and admitted that a large part of why she moved is because she lost her home in the California fires. That she has no problem telling the rest of us what to do but isn’t willing to put in the work to put her words into actions. Even to say that her career might not be going in the direction she wants and is doing this as a reset and a time to rest, reflect and come to decisions that are best for her and her family.

Except most of her family did not go to Ireland with her. She has four other children, all adults and some with their own families, who remained in the US. You have to wonder how they feel about their mother’s latest move and how they will explain to their own children that Grandma Rosie is great at offering advice and telling folks how to live their lives but not so great about putting that advice into practice.

I do feel for the youngest child. I have friends whose children have various challenges in their lives, including autism. They look at those as I said, as challenges. They don’t look at it as a reason to flee the country.

As for the Irish, well, they have a new “trouble” to deal with. As one person said, “Oh those poor Irish. Not enough whiskey to deal with that [Rosie].”

Saint Patrick rid the Emerald Isle of snakes. What will they have to do to rid it of self-important American celebrities? Just don’t send her back, please.

She’ll enjoy Ireland. From what I have read it’s turned into an immigrant-ridden cesspool as Irish leaders have turned fully woke and hate their own Nation and culture.
