The last few weeks should have proven to anyone with more than one working brain cell that the Democrats are behind the metaphorical eight ball. Despite everything they’ve done to rid themselves of Donald Trump, he keeps rising like a phoenix from the ashes. Each time, he is stronger and his voter support larger. Compare that to what the Dems are seeing with Joe Biden and its no wonder they look worried. Nor is it any wonder that every day seems to bring new names to the ever-growing list of those pressing the President to drop out of the race. If that’s not enough to give them all grey hair, consider the bobbing and ducking Biden’s Secret Service Director and the legal hoops the SS is jumping through to avoid being transparent about the events leading up to the attempted assassination of Trump. It wouldn’t surprise me at all to have someone pull back the curtain, much like they did in The Wizard of Oz, to reveal Hillary Clinton secretly manipulating events to her benefit.
Okay, that last is said with tongue in cheek, but you can’t tell me I’m the only one who hasn’t wondered where she stands in all of this.
For years, DC has been known as the swamp due to the corruption and influence peddling that goes on. The swamp description really fits these days. Where else can you go where the Vice-President can hold a call with 300 high-flying donors only to have her five minutes of comments called ludicrous? Instead of giving them solid reasons not to worry about the Biden campaign, she told them not to worry. Good ole Joe is gonna win and take her along with him once again.
Let me be clear,” she said. “Trump’s convention this week was one big attempt to distract people. He wants to distract attention away from his record and his Project 2025 plan. Can you believe they put it in writing? It is further empirical evidence that the stakes of this election couldn’t be higher.”
Pardon me while I laugh. Isn’t she doing the same thing? The donors wanted to be reassured. Instead, she deflected, redirected and misinformed. Typical political double-speak, especially since Biden is out of sight–but not out of mind–right now.
But that’s not the only stench coming from the swamp these days, as the following video shows.
Biden is conveniently away from the capitol, recovering from Covid. Funny, I would have thought he could get as good, if not better, treatment at the White House than he could anywhere else. Besides, if he’s there, his people could at least make a case for him doing his job even as he recovers. Instead, he hides and folks are left wondering exactly how sick he is or if this is just a way to keep him under wraps as members of his own party increase the pressure to get him to withdraw from the race.
Who knows, maybe he’s trying to figure out his next move.
But he’s still “all in!”. Like it or not, he’s letting his ego take precedence over what is best for the Dems and for the country. After all, he agreed not to run in the 2016 election, cementing Hillary Clinton’s nomination. Mere months after his 2015 announcement that he wouldn’t be running, he admitted publicly that he regretted the decision. He went so far in a 2017 interview with Oprah Winfrey to say he regretted that he wasn’t the president and that he absolutely thought he could have won.
To put this into perspective:
David Axelrod, who as a senior adviser to Mr. Obama observed Mr. Biden closely for years, said the president [Biden] has had a chip on his shoulder about the decision, fueled in part by anger that he had been driven out of a race by people who never really respected him the way he thought they should have.
Gee, are any of us surprised Biden feels Obama, Clinton and others didn’t respect him in the manner he wanted? Or that he’s letting that anger and frustration guide him in a decision that will have repercussions not only for him and his family but for the nation and the world?
Worse, he simply helps set the stage for Washington DC pols and bureaucrats to dredge deep beneath the surface of the swamp. That behavior extends to the events leading up to the attempt on Trump’s life and to the investigation that has followed. To put it bluntly, it’s been a shitstorm and there’s no other way to describe it.
According to recent reports, not only was the Secret Service (and other law enforcement personnel) slow to respond to calls that a gunman had been spotted, but they fell down in other ways as well. The gunman was allegedly seen with a rangefinder and no immediate action appears to have been taken. Later reports have come in that he also flew a drone over the fairgrounds in advance of Trump’s speech. Think about that for a moment. He flew a freaking drone on a preprogrammed flight path (if the reports are accurate) and no one intercepted the drone. No one delayed or canceled Trump’s speech. Even the Keystone Cops could have done a better job protecting Trump and those who came to hear his speech. We are truly lucky there were no more deaths or injuries than there were.
But the smoke and mirrors of the swamp doesn’t end there. Where is the transparency of the investigation into what happened? Where are the updates from Secret Service or even from the White House? By the way, that’s a question Josh Hawley has been asking. That answers is easy. They are in the same place as the information requested–and denied–under a FOIA request.
🚨BREAKING — Biden’s Secret Service is delaying the processing of a FOIA we filed following the assassination attempt of President Trump because they claim there is not:
1. Any threat to the life or safety of anyone;
2. Any urgency to inform the public about gov’t activity. pic.twitter.com/OtVebpzqSJ— America First Legal (@America1stLegal) July 19, 2024
I don’t know about you, but I would say someone’s life or physical safety is threatened by the actions taken (and not taken) by the Secret Service that day. Do we not, as citizens of this country, have the right to ask and the right to know why there was such a breakdown in security? It’s almost enough to make you wonder what they are hiding and why.
It is no secret the Biden campaign and the Democratic Party in general is in disarray right now. But that doesn’t mean the election is in the bag. The last thing any of us can afford is to become complacent. So don’t get lulled into a false sense of security. The election is still months away and a lot can happen in that time.

Nicely done, Amanda. My slant would be it is not planning his next move… it’s planning HER next move. What are they going to offer “Doctor” (SIC) Jill? I’m thinking Ambassador to the Court of St James. She wants to be taken care of in the fashion to which she’s become accustomed.
