Barbara Bush Is Too Funny For The Liberal Media

Former First Lady Barbara Bush, wife of the 41st President of the United States, has let it be known that she is moving towards the end of her life. Mrs. Bush is at home and will receive palliative care on a go forward basis. She may yet live quite a while, so this is not an obituary. No, this post is an appreciative look at how quirky funny Mrs. Bush is.

You can make book that the liberal media types will proclaim what a classy, funny lady Barbara Bush was during her time in public life. They will forget how they despised and denigrated her. Me, I loved her humor and clear eyed biting sarcasm.

“Rhymes with Rich” is probably her most famous “sorry, not sorry” funny moment. From the 1992 “Vanity Fair” article “Barbara Bush’s Backlash”:

For behind her rampart of pearls, the nation’s most self-effacing celebrity is in fact a combative politician. Always there, not far below the surface, is the Barbara Bush who briefly emerged in 1984 to denounce Geraldine Ferraro as “that $4 million—I can’t say it, but it rhymes with ‘rich.’”

Again, I thought it was funny.

“Town & Country” magazine published a list of inspirational quotes from Mrs. Bush. I found one of them very funny:

“Never ask anyone over 70 how they feel. They’ll tell you.”

Maybe you have to have lived to find that funny.

Her advice to her successor First Lady, Hillary Rodham Clinton is peachy too:

Avoid this crowd like the plague. And if they quote you, make damn sure they heard you.

Or, how about the Barbara Bush take on President Bill Clinton’s extra-curricular White House activities:

“Clinton lied. A man might forget where he parks or where he lives, but he never forgets oral sex, no matter how bad it is.”

She is so self-deprecating in her humor:

“I married the first man I ever kissed. When I tell my children that, they just about throw up.”

And, about that first man she ever kissed. Check out this video. Love and humor together:

With all they have been through together, Barbara and George H. W. Bush are an amazingly in love and funny couple.

Barbara Bush is the wife of a President and mother of six children. One child became a President, one a Governor, one died in childhood and three more successful in their own fields. She was unconcerned with her looks in the 1980’s and 1990’s during the “Dallas” and “Dynasty” years.

Funny, sarcastic and honest and the liberal media can’t stand her. Then, when, someday she dies, they will sing her praises. Jackwagons.
