As if hearing a group of college kids praise Quentin Tarantino’s cop-hating antics whilst sipping my IPA last night and traipsing through a neighborhood to find a house displaying a portrait of Lenin on the front door (Vladimir would be so proud) this past weekend was not enough, I woke up to THIS over a morning cup of coffee.
Leave it to Salon, they’ve outdone themselves once again. This particular piece attempts to blame the right’s “incessant violent rhetoric” on the Paris terror attacks.
“In recent months, the right-wing media has used language such as “terrorism” and “violent,” or that the latter is “targeting police for murder” to describe the Black Lives Matter movement. Such bombastic and ugly screeds–which are wholly unfounded, with no basis in empirical reality–have also been used by right-wing opinion leaders to describe the African-American students who are fighting against racism at Yale and the University of Missouri.”-Chauncey Devega, Salon
Mr. Devega took an opportunity to slice at Dr. Ben Carson, (color us surprised), Bill O’ Reilly’s declaration of “war” on the #BlackLivesMatter movement, and Fox News in general. He also took the opportunity to worship at the throne of Barack Obama, (who was late-appearing at the moment of silence for the Paris terror victims earlier today and said:
“(The President) has correctly described this day’s horrific events as “an attack on all of humanity and the universal values we share.”
Devega went on:
Terrorism is politically motivated violence against a vulnerable population that is designed to intimidate, sow fear, create panic and alter public policy.
Terrorism is serious business that kills people, breaks bodies and alters lives.
It is not a game.
No kidding, Sherlock. As if we didn’t know what the definition of “terrorism” was. (At least he used the word “terrorism”.)
Once again, here comes the left (from left field appropriately) tying this attack to #BlackLivesMatter and to the students of Mizzou, Yale and other college campuses across America even though this horrific attack has nothing to do with these incidents. “Bombastic” seems to be the buzz word of 2015 to describe any one in the Conservative camp. The “bombastic incessant violent rhetoric” of the right-wing media is to blame for the Paris attacks, don’t you know? Even though ISIS proudly claims the credit for this atrocity, somehow, according to the delusional left, once again, it is the right’s fault. It is America’s fault. If only we weren’t so outspoken. If only we we more, ummmm, careful with our “offensive language”. Then, and only then, could we reason with “activists”…after all, if we read between the lines here, that is all these terrorists are, right? They are “activists” for a cause. Stop the “hate speech”, already. We have brains here. Because the college “educated” left can certainly reason with this:
And this:
And, of course, this:
And no doubt, this scumbag “activist” who attempted to auction this little girl off for, well..I’m sure our “brainiac”, “compassionate” Americans can justify his reasons:
Never mind all of the above, fellow terrorist haters. We need to curb our tongues and be less bombastic. We’re so violent! We can no longer call violent terrorism what it is or utter “ISIS” or “Radical Islam” or “Islamic” and “Terrorist” in the same sentence anymore because it’s too “hateful” and our hateful rhetoric is not getting us anywhere. And, by all means, let us not perpetuate the paranoia of ISIS, they’re just “activists” after all. And maybe, just maybe if we were a little less grandiloquent, ISIS “activists” will come to an understanding about a philosophy and “universal values” (as POTUS put it) that they truly loathe and give peace a chance? I think not.
This particular piece attempts to blame the right’s “incessant violent rhetoric” on the Paris terror attacks.
I think you meant that the other way around: blaming the attacks on the right’s rhetoric.
with no basis in empirical reality
I’m fairly certain the left has no idea what either of those words means.
(color us surprised)
Racist!
“an attack on all of humanity and the universal values we share.”
Really? That might be the first thing he’s said that is true in a very long time.
