AP Misfires in Bombshell Report On the Army Discharging Immigrants. [VIDEO]

The Army is now starting to kick out recruits who are immigrants. And it must be due to that racist Trump, or something.

At least that’s the conclusion someone could get after reading a recent story from the Associated Press. It claimed that the Army is “quietly discharging immigrant troops.”

The AP also backed up their bombshell story with these shocking claims by an attorney:

Yes, let’s only hear the words of a lawyer whose specialty is immigration law, so as to boost the AP’s agenda.

Oh, and that legal eagle, Margaret Stock, also ran for US Senate from Alaska in 2016. She’s a former Republican who left her roots in 2016, with a lot of support from Democrats in Alaska. Her platform was, well, interesting.

The AP story then continues with sad story after sad story of devastated immigrant recruits whom the Army discharged for no good reason whatsoever. Except that the Commander-in-Chief hates immigrants and wants them out, right?

So let’s back up and take a look at this “bombshell” report a little closer, shall we?

First of all, guess how many immigrants the Army is kicking out. Thousands? Hundreds, maybe?

No, the Army has discharged 40 soldiers from MAVNI, or the ‘Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest’ program. And that’s out of the 70,000 immigrants currently serving.

Furthermore, says Mike Lyons, CBS Military Analyst and West Point graduate, this happens more than you might think, even to natural born citizens. More than the AP wants you to think, I’m sure:

“Unfortunately, this story is not framed properly. This happens to natural born citizens too. I know many US citizens who weren’t allowed to start basic because a bad background check came back.”

Hmm. Please tell us more:

“It could be a myriad of issues — clearances, failed physicals, bad background checks — which eliminate natural born citizens as well. . .”

Michael Waller of the Center for Security Policy adds this little nugget:

There’s also that little problem of ISIS, too.

Out of a total of 162 prosecutions of US-based Islamic State actors, 17 had served in the military, according to a study by Fordham University’s Center on National Security. Of those, 11 tried to join ISIS after their service ended, and one was even an Iraqi translator.

But pay no attention to those pesky facts behind the curtain. Opposing views be damned — the AP has an axe to grind and a narrative to spin, right?

Here’s where your report immediately falters … You simply make reference to another blogger that states there are “70,000” immigrants currently serving the US military. Had you done 5 seconds of research (e.g. “google”) you would have come up with about 30,000 immigrants serving in the military. Let me do your homework for you … https://immigrationforum.org/article/new-americans-u-s-armed-forces-fact-sheet/

I served 24 years, and guess what. I was denied entry into the armed forces my first attempt. Pesky little hernia. Got it repaired (on my dime) and was accepted. Hundreds of reasons people are denied. Some can be corrected. More AP Bullshit.

Oh yes, the ‘minority must be muslim because head thing’. He’s a Sikh, yanno, I used to live near a Sikh community(The guys were all named ‘Singh’. Means ‘lion’, and always could lend me a knife. Always had another. too, like religious thing with them!) The Sikhs are the hardest working and most honest people I know. I’d trust them with my kids, my wife, my tools. There’s a Sikh mechanic shop near me. No, I’m not giving you the contact because I’d never get in again because they’re just that good. I hired a Sikh drywall crew for 3 times the rate of an English as Second Language crew, and it was worth every penny. The drywall was perfect, the texture was great. They swept and mopped before they left. Allow that to sink in, please. They swept and mopped before they left. Compare and contrast with the aftermath of an ESL crew.
The Sikhs lived in a couple of blocks in the Montrose area of Houston, a notoriously libertine, gay, area, full of musicians and artists and drug addicts. And me, of course. You KNEW when you were there.Yards were perfect. Cars were washed. EVERY SINGLE HOUSE had a 20 foot flagpole flying the American Flag.

I chose the image of the Sikh man because it came from information about the MAVNI program. It’s just a picture, signifying nothing other than an image of an immigrant who serves honorably in our military. It’s also quite striking, as I’m sure you will agree.

I’m perfectly aware that Sikhs are not Muslim. I’m also aware that Muslims do not wear turbans. There is a Sikh temple in my city which I drive past from time to time. It’s in a nice area of town, on a large plot of land which appears to be very well kept.

Your story reminds me of the motel we would stay in while visiting our daughter while she was in college, which was run by an Indian family. Right after 9/11, which happened during her freshman year, the motel was festooned with little American flags everywhere.

Yeah, good comeback. I am not racist because I have African American friends. Your colors have shown already; no need to keep digging deeper.

No, I think they hit exactly what they aimed for.

This appears to be grounds for impeachment, as Trump is not faithfully executing his duties as commander in chief. Robert Mueller needs to investigate why they were thrown out, issue a report, and Congress needs to start impeachment immediately as the conclusions are obvious.

    • Brian says:

      Vinny,

You clearly didn’t read the article or the explanation did you. I’ve got two kids serving. One had to have an MRI on her spine to double check something, was cleared and now driving aircraft carriers. Yeah – almost didn’t get in. It’s tough to get in. But keep calling for his impeachment. For nothing

    • Kyle Baptista says:

Trump has nothing to do with immigrants getting kicked out. You clearly have no idea, but keep running your mouth as if you are the one signing their paperwork.

  • AJ says:

Margaret stock is not running for Senate. She ran for Senate in 2016.

  • GWB says:

This is a blatant attempt at fake news, in order to swing the electorate ahead of November.
Having said that, AP does put a bunch of the exculpatory information in the article. It just entirely contradicts the headline. That way they can say “but it wasn’t fake news!”
Just remember that “AP” stands for “Associated with terrorists Press”.

  • waleed-II says:

When the media and journalists have no real skin in the game, it encourages them to fabricate news in order to sell articles. If news organizations and news contributors were to be held accountable for lies and slander there would be much less news and many less journalists and even a smaller number of news providers.

  • David Byler says:

the truth is most difficult for AP to print. sigh
