With everything going on in the world, poor Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez must be feeling left out. There’s no other explanation for her latest headline grabbing attempt for relevancy. Why else would she demand an answer from Attorney General Bondi about whether the Department of Justice is investigating her? Why else would she add a short date for response before she what? Goes public? That horse is already out of the barn. Oh, and let’s not forget, she cc’d President Trump on the demand. Everyone say it with me: AOC is once again showing she is little more than a media attention grabbing . . . .
The timeline leading up to AOC’s demand is simple. On February 12, 2025, her office held a webinar for her “constituents”, explaining what to do and what their rights were if anyone from Immigration and Customs Enforcement ICE) approached them. According to her, she was simply making sure they knew their “rights” just in case. The problem, again according to her, came when Tom Homan, said in an interview that it’s possible the webinar might be “impeding our law enforcement efforts” when it comes to border security.
Sounds like a pretty fair concern, if you ask me. It wouldn’t be unreasonable for law enforcement to investigate if there are reasonable concerns that the information she gave out during thie webinar was inaccurate or could be used to mislead or obstruct ICE or other law enforcement agencies.
But apparently the congresswoman felt threatened because he called her out by name, saying “Maybe AOC’s gonna be in trouble now.”
Again, not a threat per se, just a comment on what could happen. In other words, he was exercising his First Amendment right to free speech–something AOC claims she was doing with the webinar. But I guess that right only applies to the righteous, at least as she defines the terms.
Homan said he is seeking to know whether or not her actions can be classified as “impeding our law enforcement efforts” during a Fox News appearance earlier in February. “If so, what are we going to do about it? Is she crossing the line? So I’m working with the Department of Justice and finding out,” Homan said.
Again, perfectly reasonable.
But poor AOC must try to not only create smoke but fire out of this supposed threat.
A look at her letter to AG Bondi proves that with the very first sentence: “I write to request clarity on whether the Department of Justice (DOJ) has yielded to political pressure and attempts to weaponize the agency against elected officials whose speech they disagree with.”
Wow, can you say “politically charged language”?
Or how about “making a mountain out of a mole hill”?
I don’t remember AOC saying anything like this with the threatened or confirmed investigations run by the Biden Administration. I do, however, remember the ethics violation charges against her that were brought over the last few years. Maybe she decided to follow the old adage that any publicity is good publicity. Who knows, but she really does need to learn to take that chip off her shoulder and quit doing her best imitation of a harridan.
The letter goes on to note that a whopping 14 days had passed since Homan’s comments about referring the matter to the DOJ took place. She wants answers now! Now, damn it! Are they investigating her? Oh, and they have a whopping six days, counting the weekend to respond.
How generous of her. It’s not as if the DOJ doesn’t have hundreds, maybe thousands of other investigations ongoing right now, many of which were continued over from the Biden Administration and others that are being referred to them by local, state, and federal agencies on a daily basis. But I guess she thinks she gets special treatment because of her status as a US Rep.
And here I thought she kept wanting us to think she was one of the regular folks she claims to represent.
She closes her letter demanding an “update on the Department of Justice’s response to Mr. Homan’s request and transparency as to whether my office or myself is actively under investigation for exercising their First Amendment rights and executing on our congressional responsibilities.”
Now, ignoring the fact her own First Amendment arguments could also apply to what Homan said, the letter is nothing more than her attempting to grandstand and position herself as the new leader of the Democratic Party. It is about drawing a line in the sand between her and the current Administration. It is about her desire to be the leader of the Dems going forward, something she doesn’t really make any secret about.
But here’s the thing, she acted too quickly. She stole her own thunder by sending this letter before the DOJ announced any sort of investigation. If she’d waited, she could have stood on the steps in front of the Capitol and lamented how sad it is that the DOJ and, by extension, the Trump Administration are tromping on her First Amendment rights and the rights of people living in her district.
So here’s a slow golf clap to AOC for tripping over her own feet and stealing her own thunder because she couldn’t wait to point the finger and cry foul before anything really happened.
Clap. . . clap. . . clap. . . .

AOC has been running for President since she walked out of the bar and into Congress. And the media is complicit. They air just about everything this airhead posits.
Rep Cortez, I can neither confirm nor deny the existence of any active investigations which may or may not be taking place at this time. Signed AG Bondi..
Yeah, ole.donkey chompers was too stupid to tend bar, but the dims think she’s leadership material.. that tells you all you need to know about how stupid they think ( and might be right) their voters are..
It has been said by others that “politics is Hollywood for ugly people.” However much truth there is in that, these days we have a new phenomenon: the moderately attractive person who feels she’s not getting enough attention. Ocasio-Cortez is one such. You can practically hear her muttering under her breath: “What’s wrong with you people? Look at this face! Look at this rack! Look at this expensive outfit! Pay me the attention I deserve!!” It’s not hard to imagine the former bartender in such a state.
Mind you, there are also cases of this syndrome on the Right. I hesitate to name names, but then, I don’t think it’s actually necessary.
Stupid Bar Wench says what?
