Andrew Tate: Hyper-Chauvinism Versus The Soy Boy

Andrew Tate. Chauvinist.Misogynist. You’ve heard all the names. We have not mentioned much about Mr. Tate until now but perhaps it is time we did.

Andrew Tate, a former kickboxer, is back in the United States after being busted for sex trafficking charges in Romania.

“Largely misunderstood”. Anything involving minors is not a “large misunderstanding”. It’s unlawful, illegal and morally bankrupt. But, Tate as a right-wing influencer? I would argue this “journalist”‘s claim. More on that in a moment.

David Marcus wrote up this opinion piece for Fox News this morning:

Tate made a fortune off of a ‘webcam model’ (read: porn) business, then began selling online courses ostensibly teaching alienated boys and young men how to become alpha males. His modus operandi seems to be to prowl around shirtless and scowling, cigar in hand, as he prattles on in rapid-fire fashion about how all women are whores and how his fans should treat them as such.

Tate advises his followers to have children with as many women as possible and not worry too much about being a real father. He boasts about beating women, including during sex. Among his typical tidbits of advice is that it is better to have sex with a hot trans “woman” than an ugly actual woman.”-David Marcus

Tate’s takes on male victimization and emasculation of men by the liberal left and places it on a cycle of ‘roids.

Let’s circle back to the “right-wing influencer” moniker. First of all, the whole scape of “influencers” is a wasteland of epic proportions. Let’s attack this piece by piece:

Having children with as many women as possible is FAR from a right-wing concept. Elon Musk has 14 children with different baby mamas. Elon Musk is NOT a Conservative. Neither are the many rappers, athletes or celebrities with multiple children by multiple women.

And while Andrew Tate’s toxic view on women as “whores” and sex as a transactional act is appalling, this is largely not a Conservative outlook, either. Influencers from the other side of the aisle talk about female “empowerment” to be as sexy as you want to be, to use sex, your body, to get what you want from a man. Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion topped charts with (songs?) about this. It’s cool to kill a kid if you’re not feeling the pangs of motherhood and want to push forward with a career instead. It’s also cool to use a man for sex. As a parent of a first-year college freshman, I am here to say that hook-up culture on campus is very real and some girls are savage and downright mean to young men.

So, while we have the hyper-masculinity Tate peddles, and the overtly sexual behavior of young women looking to put another notch in their lipstick case at the weekend frat party, let’s add another layer onto this heaping pile. Holding the door, paying for a meal or buying flowers for a girl is just a man’s way to “get into a girl’s pants” because “that is all men want”. So, in Tate’s fashion and perspective, why do this at all? Cut to the chase and get in bed. Courting and friendship and falling in love is a thing of the past.

Over the past few decades, as our society has tried to chip off only the toxic bits of the stone sculpture of masculinity, we increasingly find that we too often also shed the good traits, the stoicism, strength, and selflessness that were once hallmarks of how we view men.

What Tate really peddles is a particularly vile strain of victimhood, which is a growth industry all over the political spectrum, and like all the players in that noxious business, he soothes the wounded egos of his followers with comfortable lies.”-David Marcus

Adding even more layers, is the gender confusion that schools (and some parents) are peddling to young people. The idea young men need to “be more feminine” and take on less “manly” traits (the Soy Boy, Sensitive, Ponytail Guy). That women need to be less “girly”. Then there’s the notion that men can be women and women can be men. Relationally, these kids don’t have a prayer. And, speaking of prayer, take God out of the equation. They’re lost.

Andrew Tate and his brand are not what is, or should be propelling young MAGA, as our news outlets claim. Diddy is a Democrat and also held “Freak-Offs” with underage girls. This toxic misogyny knows no political bounds. Tate is only doing what influencers do, taking advantage of a captive audience to gain momentum and line his pockets.

I hope the influencer culture gets swept up and drowns in the undertow. As a parent to a young man in college who shares (almost) everything with me and talks openly about what happens on campus, I pray for him every day. I pray for his friends and the girls on campus, too. That someday, soon, we return to normalcy.

OK, my 2¢ on the matter:

I dislike Tate. He’s a repulsive human being. If he is guilty for what he is being accused of, he needs to be in jail.

But consider the messages young boys get all their lives. As little kids, they are thought of as defective girls with dangly bits and need to be drugged up until they behave. When they get to high school, they are rapists waiting to happen. They are oppressive by the fact they are male. They don’t deserve to go to college. They should step aside for women and they should apologize for having XY chromosomes.

Then along comes Andrew Tate who tells those people “Fuck off” and he has material success and women flock to him. So yeah; his message is going to appeal. And while it would be nice for influencer culture to go away, more men should be stepping up and showing a better path than what he offers.

  • The Romanian charges could be true – or not. Even if they are, the purpose is far more likely to be the elimination of a business competitor, not elimination of the business. It is a thoroughly corrupt country.

  • […] They don’t stand for tradition, morality, or real values beyond their self-indulgence. They are not role models for manhood; they are parasites feeding off the insecurities of young men while exploiting and […]

…perhaps “hyper-masculinity” isn’t the right term for this particular carnival act.
“overtly sexual behavior of young women looking to put another notch in their lipstick case at the weekend frat party”
….The Tate bros are frauds. How much of this is paid advertisement? We already know the Tates grifting activities include pretending to be women to financially drain men who think they are talking to women online. “Overtly sexual. behavior” from women are a necessary part of the carnival act.

this is largely not a Conservative outlook
None of it is. But it, in some meager fashion, attempts to pull down the Progressive Trojan Horse, so it is “right-wing.” Remember, this is where “NAZIs are right-wing” comes from – anything insufficiently communist is “NAZI.”

Tate is an a**hole. But, in a world where everyone to the right of Trotsky is already labeled “racist” and “misogynist”, he fits under a pretty big tent. Sadly.

This article is a lotta whataboutism without addressing the fact that MAGA influencers are largely to blame for the Tate phenomenon.
Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens held softball interviews with Andrew Tate (but Tucker was “just asking questions,” of course).
Trump attorney Alina Habba applauded the brothers’ return to the US. Don Jr. has reportedly been a bud of Andrew’s for several years.
I agree with Lisa that we’d all be better off without the toxic influences of social media. But it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. If only so-called “conservatives” thought more about who and what it is they’re promoting, instead of “owning the libs” to get clicks and cred then conservatism might become a serious movement again.
