Anderson Cooper On Donald Trump’s Stability

Last night, Anderson Cooper went on a six minute, unhinged rant about President Donald Trump. The blessing is that, since Anderson Cooper 360 airs on CNN, only those held hostage in airports were forced to watch the program. The rant is worth discussing because of the insight it gives us into the virulence Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Fox News Network reported the rant under the title “CNN’s Anderson Cooper slams Ivanka Trump after president’s ‘disloyal’ remarks”. The title is semi-misleading because, although Cooper did slam Ivanka, his tirade was wide-ranging. In the Fox post, they call Anderson Cooper “one of left-leaning CNN’s advertised straight news hosts”. Write your own jokes, folks. There is no straight news on CNN.

From the article:

“It should be noted that throughout history, calling Jews ‘disloyal’ has been a common anti-Semitic trope — has been a pretext to exclude Jews or take their businesses or put them in ghettos or expel them or expel them from schools or exterminate them,” Cooper began.

The “Anderson Cooper 360” host quickly pivoted to the president’s daughter, who is Jewish.

“Ivanka Trump must be very proud of her dad tonight,” Cooper said. “And you can probably just watch for an Ivanka leak in the coming days about how she tried to talk her father, you know, to change that kind of language. It’s a classic Ivanka move.”

Me thinks Mr. Cooper needs to study history a little more. The Jewish people were called far more than “disloyal” in Nazi Germany. Maybe it’s just Trump and me, but I have always wondered why Jewish people vote Democrat. Well, I wonder why anyone votes Democrat. It seems to be against human interest to vote Democrat.

More from the Fox News article:

He then mocked the “flip-flop flip” on the Trump administration’s shifting stance on cutting the payroll tax and pursuing universal background checks on guns, suggesting that voters will think that the president is “either unstable,” “not a genius,” “has no idea what they are saying,” or “all of the above.”

In previous administrations, that used to be called floating a trial balloon. Well, in previous Democrat administrations. I recall Presidents Reagan, Bush and Bush being called out for flip-flops. Does Trump think out loud? Yes, he does. Does he change his mind? Yes, he does.

Here is the Tweet and video from Cooper:

Anderson Cooper started out his rant with Denmark. I have no idea whether Trump is truly considering buying Greenland or not. I think for several military and economic reasons that buying Greenland might be a good idea. Denmark may be an ally, but the country is not paying its fair share of the NATO dues. As Fox News also reported, Trump tweeted:

“For the record, Denmark is only at 1.35% of GDP for NATO spending. They are a wealthy country and should be at 2%. We protect Europe and yet, only 8 of the 28 NATO countries are at the 2% mark. The United States is at a much, much higher level than that,” Trump tweeted Wednesday afternoon.

Could this be a negotiating move to get more NATO money out of Denmark? Maybe, just maybe, Trump is playing a long game here with the interests of the United States of America at the forefront of his thinking. Maybe, just maybe, Anderson Cooper doesn’t have the intellectual capacity to understand that kind of strategic thinking. We have proof here of his Trump Derangement Syndrome’s virulence.
