If you were a German, how would you feel if you saw This Guy walking the streets of your city?

It happened recently in Germany. Actor Oliver Masucci, portraying Hitler in a new social satire film entitled Er Ist Wieder Da (“He’s Back”), walked through German cities for unscripted, reality-type scenes as part of the movie. Little did he know he would be embraced by citizens begging him for selfies, for hugs, and to bring back labor camps. He reported feeling ‘relief’ that one person began assaulting him.

In an interview with the German newspaper Bild, Masucci expressed how uncomfortable he was with such demonstrations of devotion. “During shooting, I realised I didn’t really have to perform – people felt a need to talk, they wanted to pour their hearts out to a fatherly Hitler who was listening to them. I found it disturbing how quickly I could win people over. I mean, they were talking to Hitler.”

During filming, “Hitler” also encountered members of German populist movements such as Alternative for Germany and the neo-Nazi NPD. The movie also includes scenes of a rally by the European nationalist movement PEGIDA (Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of the Occident).

German journalists were horrified. ‘A fake Hitler, a small moustache clearly helped people lose their inhibitions and. . . allowed insights into Germany’s dark side. The far-right ideology smoulders to this day and has found new forums. . . in the form of the Alternative for Germany and the PEGIDA movement,’ wrote the newspaper Berliner Morgenpost. The weekly Die Zeit was disturbed that even 70 years after the end of World War II, ‘The German public in this film accompanies Hitler as someone who dominates the stage . . . he embodies a history that is incomplete.’

It is disturbing, to be sure. But the people of Germany are becoming frustrated and desperate as they see their nation invaded by millions of Middle Eastern Muslim refugees, and the horror stories accompanying them are shocking.

A Czech doctor who works in a German hospital related that conditions brought by the Muslim ‘refugees’ are so horrific that she wants to return to a lower-paying job in the Czech Republic. She told of her experiences in an email, which was read by a Czech television host. Link here.

Many migrants have AIDS, syphilis, open TB and many exotic diseases that we, in Europe, do not know how to treat them. If they receive a prescription in the pharmacy, they learn they have to pay cash. This leads to unbelievable outbursts, especially when it is about drugs for the children. They abandon the children with pharmacy staff with the words: “So, cure them here yourselves!” So the police are not just guarding the clinics and hospitals, but also large pharmacies. . . .
In a hospital near the Rhine, migrants attacked the staff with knives after they had handed over an 8-month-old on the brink of death, which they had dragged across half of Europe for three months. The child died in two days, despite having received top care at one of the best pediatric clinics in Germany. The physician had to undergo surgery and two nurses are laid up in the ICU. Nobody has been punished.

Even a Lutheran pastor, Dr. Gottfried Martens of Trinity Lutheran-Berlin, who has converted many refugees through a long catechesis, and who has welcomed many Iranians who had been secret members of house churches in Iran, described in a podcast of how new Christians are being attacked by other Muslims simply for converting. He also warned that Germany should be very wary of whom they are admitting, but unfortunately the government is not taking heed.

A poll taken earlier this month in Germany shows that four-fifths of Germans want border control, and 59% regarded it a mistake to have allowed the free entry of Syrian refugees into Germany from Hungary. The crime rate has also risen 65% as a result the influx of Muslim immigrants.

Germany is still atoning for the sins of World War II, and her leaders, including Chancellor Angela Merkel, must believe that allowing possibly 1.5 Muslims into the nation can absolve the nation from the stain of Nazism. But the Nazi leaders of the Third Reich are long gone, and few actual World War II veterans of the Wehrmacht are still living. The country is populated by Germans born after the war, and they see their nation losing its sovereignty to foreign invaders who don’t speak their language and are hostile to their culture. No wonder the specter of Der Fuehrer is alluring.
