A New Job For Kevin McCarthy, Move Over Ronna McDaniel

Could there be a new job for Kevin McCarthy now that he announced his resignation from Congress? He says he’ll still serve the Republican party in other ways. Does Ronna McDaniel need to be looking over her shoulder?

Looking back on the Matt Gaetz motion to dethrone McCarthy as Speaker, I have to admit, it is pretty astounding that any of that happened. I know many people were upset by it, maybe rightfully so. But let’s not rehash any of that right now. What was done is done.

So now McCarthy wants to quit Congress. Some may say he’s mad, that if he can’t be the leader, he’ll just take his ball and go home; he won’t play anymore. You know he can’t leave that lifestyle that he worked so hard to create for himself.

Could he be gunning after Ronna McDaniel’s job at the Republican National Committee? Now, that might be something I could get behind. Vivek Ramaswamy isn’t the only one asking why Ronna still has a job.

People who are much more familiar with these types of things say Kevin is a deep strategist, a money machine, and a fantastic debater with those on the left – frequently eating the lunches of the media.

But what does he mean by this?

Perhaps something was taken out of context. I can’t believe I am about to say this, but he may have a point there. The Republican party does look like the most restrictive country club in America.

But not so fast there. An article by PBS earlier this year disagrees:

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy is largely responsible for making strides at trying to diversify the Republican House. The California leader personally recruited and helped to elect more female candidates and people of color who delivered majority control.

McCarthy and his team worked to diversify their ranks during the 2022 midterm elections with dozens of Black, Hispanic and Asian American nominees on ballots nationwide, some of whom won office. – PBS

That is why he may serve us better by managing the Republican National Committee. However, he says he is open to a cabinet position within the Trump administration. Did you know Kevin McCarthy supports Trump?

Kevin McCarthy wrote his exit interview in the Wall Street Journal in the form of an OpEd. He writes about his accomplishments and what could be next for him, claiming that while he’s leaving the House, he is not leaving the fight.

It often seems that the more Washington does, the worse America gets. I started my career as a small-business owner, and I look forward to helping entrepreneurs and risk-takers reach their full potential. The challenges we face are more likely to be solved by innovation than legislation. – WSJ

You will not get an argument out of me, Kevin. I’m all about innovation. Using innovation to elect more America-loving representatives is the right move. Let’s see what you have and make your move.

You must be joking. Good riddance to the epitome of an Establishment Republican. He’s exactly the kind of Republican of which we need fewer, not more. His comments about Democrats looking like America, and the Republicans looking like a restrictive country club are exactly the kind of thinking and comments I don’t want from party leadership. Ronna McDaniel needs to go, but please let’s don’t replace her with McCarthy.
