Hamas, during a memorial service for militants killed in a tunnel that collapsed on them, revealed a “tank” they claimed to be fashioned out of an Israel Defense Forces’ tank captured two years ago.
The vehicle that Hamas militants claimed was “on the road of jihad” appeared to have wood atop another vehicle whose wheels could be spotted from the bottom.
Hamas’ Izzedin Al-Qassam Brigades spokesman Abu Obeida inaugurated the tank and warned the Islamic movement was “preparing themselves for the day that we shall meet those [Israeli] tanks”:
“Let us point our index finger toward heaven and renew our pledge of allegiance to Allah and to the commanders of the Izzedin Al-Qassam Brigades and vow to continue on the path of jihad and resistance.”
Preparing themselves with plywood, paper mache and a sewer pipe atop a Toyota. Sure.

Perhaps Hamas was preparing their “tank” for a parade or a comeback of the show “Pimp My Ride”? The turret almost begs a Marvin the Martian-style “KaBoom” flag jutting out of it. One, two, three, four…let’s have a Nerf war! That’s just the way they roll. Allahu Akbar and yabba-dabba-doo.
Chris in N.Va. says: Reminds me of a decades-old joke about an Israeli and PLO military unit facing each other in the desert. Each unit was totally out of ammunition and their equipment largely broken down.
The PLO troops were given sticks and told that if the Israeli Army launched an attack, they were to point their sticks and shout, “Bangiddy bang bang!”
Later that day the PLO officer returned and found the tattered remnants of his unit scattered around, broken sticks and all, and asked what happened.
“When they attacked we pointed our sticks and shouted, ‘Bangiddy bang bang!’ like you said, but the other side charged empty-handed towards us shouting, ‘Tankitty tank tank!’ and they overran our position.”
Appalled By The World says: What else could be expected from the palestinians? They want to turn Israel into a mythical nation called palestine so it’s only natural that they take an old Israeli tank and call it a mythical palestinian tank. Now all they need is to get an old Israeli plane and then they can launch their mythical blitzkrieg. They only thing stopping them is having the intelligence to make a plane fly-they are known to make actual pilots fly for them at gunpoint though so perhaps they have some hope to imitate their uncle Adolf.
No doubt Israel is quivering at the prospect of the oncoming attack.
