This morning Donald Trump appeared on ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos and really excoriated his rival Ted Cruz for an ad that appeared in Iowa newspapers this morning. One panel pointed out that Trump supported single payer health care (he has), and Trump told Stephanopoulos that Cruz was a “total liar.”
Trump continued by telling Stephanopoulos that he wanted to take care of everyone in America, even if they had no health insurance, and then even said about Cruz, “Maybe he’s got no heart.”
Oh, that’s rich, coming from the guy who mocked a disabled reporter a few months ago.

It’s the same guy who mocked Carly Fiorina’s appearance in Rolling Stone:
‘Look at that face!’ he cries. ‘Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?!’
And let’s not forget how he scorned captured POWs while speaking of John McCain: “He’s not a war hero. He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.”
A British female reporter, Selina Scott, just described in a British publication how Trump failed to seduce her in the 1990’s when she was profiling him for a television documentary. Trump flattered her and attempted to woo her — despite the fact that he was married to Wife Number Two — but when the film exposed his constant lies about his business successes, Trump turned on her and harassed her for years.
From the article:
Trump went ballistic. Over many years he sent me a series of intimidating letters branding me ‘sleazy, unattractive, obnoxious and boring.’ He said I was ‘totally uptight’, and that I had begged him for a date. In his dreams!
This vicious tirade was often accompanied by fanzine newspaper cuttings which purported to show how much money he was making.
He scrawled across the top: ‘Selina you are a major loser.’ Another letter declared: ‘Dear Selina, I hear your career is going terribly.
In the meantime I have had the best year of my entire career. Fitting justice? Yours truly, Donald Trump.’
The harassment stopped only when Scott threatened to take legal action against Trump for stalking.
Vengeful behavior has been Trump’s stock-in-trade for all his adult life, but perhaps the most egregious example of it occurred in 1999, when he cut off medical benefits to his infant nephew.
Donald Trump had an older brother, Freddy, who was the designated ‘black sheep’ of the Trump family due to his failure to conform to the demands for business success set by the father, Fred Trump. Freddy instead became a pilot, and married, but fell into drinking. When Fred Sr. died in 1999, Freddy was cut out of the will, so he sued to try to have an earlier version of the will, in which he received an inheritance, reinstated.
Donald Trump was enraged. A week later he cut off the medical benefits that had been promised by the family for Freddy’s son, an infant with seizure disorder and cerebral palsy. Why punish the child? “I was angry because they sued,” he explained in an interview with the New York Times published earlier this year.
But Ted Cruz is the one who ‘maybe’ has got “no heart.”
Pot, meet kettle. Donald Trump is a boorish, narcissistic, vengeful, misogynist who is capable of abusing anyone whom he views as beneath him — and that includes just about everybody. Unfortunately he is also one of the most capable showman and salesman to ever pull the wool over the American public’s eyes. As James Pethokoukis of the American Enterprise Institute wrote, “Donald Trump is hypnotizing America. Literally.”
I shudder to think of what could happen if so many Americans continue to be duped by this aging Caligula.
I will Never vote for Trump.
