Trey Gowdy seemed to hold nothing back in his opening statement this morning before formal questioning of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton began in the much-anticipated House Benghazi Hearing. He was tough, resolute, and made certain Mrs. Clinton understood, despite her assertions otherwise, she’s not, and never has been, the primary focus of the committee’s investigation:

And then it was the sycophantic, obfuscating Elijah Cummings’ turn, but not before Mrs. Clinton shot an ear-to-ear grin his way. In case you can’t stomach it, just know that the entirety was more of the same ‘ol Vast Right Wing Conspiracy mantra we’ve come to expect from Mrs. Clinton’s Protection Squad:

You’ll excuse me, Mrs. Clinton, if I don’t believe your assertion that you’re in that hearing room to honor Chris Stevens, Glen Doherty, Tyrone Woods and Sean Smith. Someone who callously stands over the caskets of four dead Americans and lies to the faces of their grieving families and friends, and blames an internet video for their deaths in an effort to win her boss re-election, has precisely zero credibility in my book.
