We knew that it wouldn’t be long before the celebrity community sounded off on Rachel “The Ruse” Dolezal’s compulsive lying. Because, that’s what they do best, don’t you know?
Former NBA MVP turned Time columnist Kareem Abdul-Jabbar came to Rusey-Rachel’s defense for pretending to be a black woman for years.
Despite all this, you can’t deny that Dolezal has proven herself a fierce and unrelenting champion for African-Americans politically and culturally. Perhaps some of this sensitivity comes from her adoptive black siblings. Whatever the reason, she has been fighting the fight for several years and seemingly doing a first-rate job. Not only has she led her local chapter of the NAACP, she teaches classes related to African-American culture at Eastern Washington University and is chairwoman of a police oversight committee monitoring fairness in police activities. Bottom line: The black community is better off because of her efforts.
Abdul-Jabbar goes on to say that there is no such thing as race:
The thing about race is that, scientifically, there is no such thing. As far back as 1950, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) released the conclusions of an international group of anthropologists, geneticists, sociologists, and psychologists that stated that the concept of race was not a scientific entity but a myth. Since then, one scientific group after another has issued similar conclusions. What we use to determine race is really nothing more than some haphazard physical characteristics, cultural histories, and social conventions that distinguish one group from another. But, for the sake of communication, we will continue to misuse the word, myself included, in order to discuss our social issues so everyone understands them. As far as Dolezal is concerned, technically, since there is no such thing as race, she’s merely selected a cultural preference of which cultural group she most identifies with. Who can blame her? Anyone who listens to the Isaac Hayes song, “Shaft,” wants to be black—for a little while anyway.
Juxtapose that statement with THIS:

(Sigh.) Bear with me because my brain is spinning right now as I try and break this down. If “race” does not exist, how does “racism” still exist? If “race” does not exist, then we are all one big happy family and equal in everything and anything that we pursue in this country, right? But, oh, “more whites believe in ghosts than racism”? So, here we go again with the illustration that the the white American population–the whole lot of us are a bunch of racists. If I didn’t know any better, and I were to fall in-line with this narrative, I would say this comment was quite “racist.” If racism does not exist, then there are no such things as “white privilege”, “polarization”, “microaggressions”, “bias”, “Racial profiling” and “whitesplaining”. If there is no such thing as “race” (as we are learning from Caitlin/Bruce/Bruce/Caitlin that there is no such thing as “gender”), then, WHY would Rachel Dolezal even feel the need to pretend to be black?
Abdul-Jabaar went on to say in his piece that he, like Dolezar also “lived a lie” for all of the years claiming he was 7’2 when he is only 5’8.
You see, I don’t see Rachel Dolezal as black or white. I see her as a liar. A liar is a liar–there is no black and white in lying! I find it amazing that a person can lie as long as it supports the rhetoric that our “big machine” is trying to spew out. What we continue to throw out there is this whole “do what feels good even if it’s a big, fat lie” concept. What makes it okay for a white woman to check the African-American box on applications for opportunities and privileges for jobs or scholarships? If this is okay–what’s stopping other white women (besides a moral compass) from doing the same thing? Why isn’t the black community upset about this? Here is a white woman taking potential opportunities away from a black woman! Since “there is no such thing as race” and she was not the only white president of an NAACP chapter, why the charade? Why did she feel any need to portray herself as black? And if she truly identified herself as black, why did she pull the “white girl” card at Howard University? Sounds to me, like Ms. Dolezal likes to play the victim on both sides of the fence to work the system! Which, apparently our society is becoming okay with, too-but more on that at another time. And, while we’re at it, why is it okay to lie and plagiarize the work of someone else and pass it off as your own?
Yep, you got it. Rachel Dolezal can be a fraud. A sham. A pathological liar in need of some serious psychological help. But this is America and she can be “As Black As She Wants To Be.”
As long as it fits in with the narrative, that is.
“Community” has become the new term for “race”. That’s what I get from reading Kareem’s piece. That and from listening to the news, where I always hear of police efforts to get along better with “the community”. “Community” used to mean everyone in a place but these days when reading between the lines “the community” clearly means one particular group unless it’s specified as in “the Asian community”.
This poor, delusional snowflake (emphasis on “flake”) is ripe to star in her own bio-pic (re: John Howard Griffin in 1961):
Confused Like Me
‘If “race” does not exist, how does “racism” still exist?’
Too much money and too much power. If racism didn’t exist, the race-baiters in the media, government and academia would have to invent it.
And – let’s be honest – modern-day “civil rights activists” are addicted to hate. Their lives are defined by their bigotry, and without it they are nothing. A society where people are judged by the content of their character instead of the color of their skin would be literally Hell for them.
Very true. We live in a society where the mode of operation makes lying justifiable as long as it contributes to the appropriate agenda that the mainstream media, government and academia are attempting to promote. I’d like to see what happens if a conservative white woman passed herself off as black. I have a hard time thinking the “community” would be as forgiving.
I wonder where Jabbar comes down on Affirmative Action. Inquiring minds want to know…
It’s easy for a black multimillionaire to spew stupidity.
alcindor is a known anti Semite and racist himself …… no decent human being gives a rodents rear end what he thinks
