  • Paul says:

So what’s your point? If you look at the numbers, the President’s personal popularity is still sky high. That’s politcal capital and will help him weather this economic crisis in good measure.

Besides polls and like underwear, they change daily.

  • PenniePan says:

Kate these polls just tell a portion of the story (as usual). Barack is enormously popular as Paul has just said. He is also surrounded by the brightest people we have in this country. It takes time to turn things around and these polls reflect what’s going on in people’s homes their own anxiety. I think they would say that though they are worried and nervous, they trust Barack. Most of us do.

  • PenniePan says:

Oh and if you read the LA Times article, they are still very smitten by Barack.

  • JP says:

Everyone knows that Obama will be a failed president. It is inevitable. These polls are just 6 months into his presidency. For someone so popular, they should be much more favorable. You in here who sing his praise are in for a serious let down.

  • Jane says:

I think what you conservatives get confused about is the TRUST factor. Americans may not like what is going on with and speak from a place of fear but they clearly LOVE Obama and are willing to be patient as things begin to ease up. It is a scary time and big responsibilities sit on his shoulders. He is doing a wonderful job and I think he has shown great courage in the face of a massive amount of doubt and criticism from the right. But if you notice, Barack mocks the offensive right like Fox News and I really love that.

  • Jane says:

“You in here who sing his praise are in for a serious let down.” JP wrong. We love Barack. We have waited for him for 8 years. We can be patient until his plans take effect for the better of our country. You are way too negative.

  • Micky says:

“We can be patient until his plans take effect for the better of our country.”

Seeing as how all this is an almost exact replication of what as done in the 30s I figure we’ll all be dead by the time weve phased out these disasterous policies.
But, then again, it seems like most Obama supporters are bout 6 years old, so hey, its not a total loss, by the time your 76 maybe a functional capitalistic system will be back in place.
Yeah, its easy to be patient when everyone else is footing your bills

Wonderful job ? At what ?

Yeah Jane, the truth is offensive, isnt it ?

“Oh and if you read the LA Times article, they are still very smitten by Barack.”

Water is wet, so what ?

  • Charlotte says:

You all shouldn’t hate on Barack Obama so much. It’s embarrassing. Remember he can crush you just like that fly.

  • Ken says:

“resident’s personal popularity is still sky high.”

That’s great, Paul, except the popularity for his POLICIES are not. It won’t be too long before people start connecting the two. You can only jump up and down screaming “It’s Bush’s fault!” so long. As much as B.O. is trying not to, he’s going to actually have to start taking responsibility for his policies.

“We can be patient until his plans take effect for the better of our country.”

Jane what exactly are his plans? Please tell us. I often hear of the Obamazombies speak of his plans, but none of them can tell me what they are.

    Dazzle me.

  • Ken says:

Not to mention, Newsbusters breaks down this latest “leg tingling” poll and, once again, we find that democrats were oversampled.

    http://newsbusters.org/blogs/clay-waters/2009/06/18/another-huge-pro-democrat-disparity-nyt-cbs-poll

“The raw figures for the latest poll showed a small gap of two points (34%-32% Democrats over Republicans). That two-point spread somehow became a yawning 14 points (38%-24% Democrats over Republicans) after the weighting.”

    I’m shocked……really. Yawn.

“As Zeleny’s story indicated, the Times found Americans mostly disapproved of Obama’s handling of efforts to save Chrysler and General Motors and don’t believe Obama’s policies have made a positive impact on the economy.”

    Ouch!

  • Benji says:

It doesn’t matter what your polls say on which given day. It also doesn’t matter which blog says what. Here is what matters: WE WON, YOU LOST. That’s not gonna change for at least 31/2 years if not 71/2. We elected someone to act just like the President is acting. The majority, almost 53 million, gave the President a mandate. Now, be quiet because you look and sound insane.

  • Ken says:

    “WE WON, YOU LOST.”

Wrong, Benji, America lost, but you’re just to blind to see it.

“We elected someone to act just like the President is acting.”

    Pretentious? Naive? Ignorant? Childish?

“The majority, almost 53 million, gave the President a mandate.”

The majority of those who voted, Benji. 47 million voted against him, hardly a landslide. There are over 300 million people in America, don’t start believing Obama’s press.

“Now, be quiet because you look and sound insane.”

We’ll be as quiet as you nutroots were for the last 8 years, deal Benji?

  • Micky says:

“We elected someone to act just like the President is acting. ”

    Really ?
Did you elect him as part of your mandate to keep almost all of Bushs foreign policies ? The ones he promised you he’d get rid of during the election ?
Did you elect him to spend more in 4 months than all past adminstrations ?
Did you elect him to put us into at least 3 trillion in debt for the next ten years ?

“The majority, almost 53 million, gave the President a mandate. ”

Thats funny coming from a bunch of gullible fools who accepted “hope and change” as a mandate. By the way, a good part of that base is no longer happy with him in just 5 short months. Oh, by the way, it was 65 million, not 53. I’ll bet you were thinking percentages.

Now, be quiet because you look and sound insane.

he he, I’d love to see your psych evaluation. Of course you’d have to pull your fingers out of your ears and stop saying la la la la la la la la in order to perform one.

  • Len Sacks says:

When Sarah Palin gets done with him in 2012, theyll be no Barack Obama.

  • …very smitten by Barack…

I don’t want to be smitten with my President. I want to have confidence that he has the experience to lead my country. In Obama – I don’t have that.

I’m still smitten with my husband and that doesn’t make him qualified to be leader of the free world.

Now, be quiet because you look and sound insane.

Welcome to the world of a conservative for the past 8 years.

  • jeff says:

Ken, well smacked! You’ve obviously come back from the honeymoon with your talons freshly sharpened for the moonbat brigade. Welcome home, sir.

I’ve just come to the understanding that the pantypens, janes, and pauls that come here do so simply to satisfy their masochistic self-flagellation. Why else would they continue to trot out their inane dipshittery? And where is the dude carriage? [whirt, whirt, whirt…] come on out, boy and git yern…

Again, Ken, welcome home, and congratulations!

    Jeff

  • Ken says:

Thanks jeff, nice to be back!

We’re actually going on our Honeymoon in July. Headed up to beautiful Canada!
