One of the most horrifying scenes from the carnage in Paris during the Charlie Hebdo massacre was that of the police officer, wounded and lying on the sidewalk, his empty hands up in apparent surrender.

Now we know his name, and we find that he was, ironically, Muslim.

He was Ahmed Merabet, a 42-year-old who was assigned to the beat near the Charlie Hebdo office. According to one source, while Merabet was lying wounded and helpless on the sidewalk, one of the assailants shouted at him, “You wanted to kill us.”

“No, we’re good, boss,” Merabet replied and showed his empty hands, whereupon he was shot in the head by the terrorist.

Being a fellow Muslim did not spare Ahmed Merabet from having terror meted out on him.

The words of Lt. Col. Ralph Peters concerning ISIS should also apply to the barbarians who murdered cartoonists and two policemen to “avenge” their prophet:

“The only way you deal with Islamic State — these bloodthirsty, blood-drunken terrorists — is to kill them, keep on killing them, until you kill the last one, then you kill his pet goat.”
